@noel_colledge

No of course not.
These are so-called hatagane - these are Japanese bar clamps.

These delicate clamps allow finely-fitted small and delicate work

pieces to be clamped for fitting and glueing.

Here LINK I bought them.

Thank you Johann for the link.

Your reply makes it sound like you would not be capable of making them. It would not be surprise a to all that follow your work to know you did, as I am sure everyone would agree. You are more than capable.

Best regards

Finished builds are

1/35 Endeavour's Longboat by Artesania Latina

1/36 scratch built Philadelphia Gunboat from the Smithsonian Plans

Current build is

Scratch build Boudroit's Monograph for La Jacinthe at 1/36

Brought some of these clamps, they are really good. Anyone that needs them in the UK, Axminster and C Z Tyzak do them.

Thanks again for the information Johann

Hello Carl,

thank you for your very nice comment.
But my works are still not perfect.
I only take pictures of the perfect details ...
:D

In the meantime, I made the
topmast deadeyes and futtock shroud plates for the top of the main mast.
Here are some pictures of how I did it.

The parts are brazed.

Deadeyes and plates look great.

(Another post to bookmark for future reference)

Johann,

As Michael said -- the deadeyes and plates look great -- just as all of your work!

. . . and as I'll soon be at the futtock shroud plates in my build this is just another one of your posts that is on my bookmark list !

Jim.

I cut it twice . . . . . and it's still too short!
