Hello folks,

thanks for your good words. I am honored that the model is so well here. I just carve the starboard side, if I have something to show, there are pictures again.

Kay ~ you don't have to worry about my wife . . . she's not as scary as I make out! :)

In fact she thinks your modelling and carvings are also a big WOW !!!

Jim.

I cut it twice . . . . . and it's still too short!

Hello folks,

I had not much time to build, but now and then I have a little put me in the yard. A few small parts are created and the railing was completed. As always, everything was made of pear wood. Alone 120 pillars of 5 mm long and 3 mm wide for the railing.

More again soon, I promise :-)

Simply superb. I am starting off with the Euromodel kit of the same. Your work is simply inspiring.

I would like to replace some of the metal castings with scratch built parts. If you could post some details on how you made these parts (e.g. the window frames), I would be very grateful.

Regards, Keith

Just now tuning in on this magnificent build.....like everyone else, I am lost for words. As beautiful as the overall ship is, the carvings just steal the show. This could be a model dump truck and we would not even notice. SPECDAMNTACULAR!!!

Thank you Kay for sharing with us.

Question.....Your carving skills....this did not just happen with this building of HMS Royal William. What is the background of your being such a MASTER wood carver?

Hi Kay,

Superb work. I have been looking for some nice closeup photos of the prowdeck bulkhead because I am going to make mine from scratch and not use the metal kit parts. Your photos are perfect and if you don't mind, I would like to use your work as a reference.

Thanks,

Vince P.

Fabulous work Kay B) It is great to see an update on your magnificent model :) The figurehead is surely on of the most daunting carving jobs around. It is probably one of the most complex figureheads ever designed.

Kind Regards

I am a late visitor to your build log, Kay. I have to say that I am really impressed. I would give my right pinky finger to be able to carve as you do... :)

(Why my right pinky? Because is the only finger I don´t use when playing guitar!  :D  :D  :D  :P )

Best wishes.

There aren't but two options: do it FAST, or do it RIGHT.

Current Project Build Log: Soleil Royal in 1/72. Kit by Artesania Latina.

Last finished projectsRoyal Ship Vasa 1628; French Vessel Royal Louis 1780. 1/90 Scale by Mamoli. 120 Cannons

Future projects already in my stash: Panart: San Felipe 1/75; OcCre: Santísima Trinidad 1/90;

Wish List: 1/64 Amati Victory, HMS Enterprise in 1/48 by CAF models.

So much to build, so little time!
