I would say that the gunner will say..."make mine pepperoni and mushroom and hold the weevil"  :P  :D

Beautiful small details Daniel. it reminds me of the distiller Nils built for his Peggy's stove. I love this kind of detailed Research and Development. Thanks for sharing as always. I wrote it out rather then use the acronym R&D as with XXXDAn around the D could stand for Deconstruction.

BTW, how big is that forge next to the tic-tac-penny, your Vicky distorts scale perception due to its detail, especially on those guns.

Nice stove anyway ... sorry it can't be used here. I too had the eyebolts placed after the deck was installed. Yours look sooo much better. I had predictable problems - between the deck cambor, bulwark angle, drill angle, and fat fingers - the gun tackle became tedious but the results are good. I really like the train tackle you have installed. I did not yet 'tackle' that on my build.

Your wish - my desire :-)

Here the Tic-Tac-shot.

One can see the bellows underneath, just the handle broke off, still find the attachment on the left side.

So did the Gunner get his weevil-less pizza?

I thought he requested "extra meat"???   I'll get me coat and go quietly... again.  post-76-0-68354500-1414798625.png

Almost as important as the small mobil but too big forge is the surrounding bits (after Goodwin):

Beside the gunsmith, his helpers, anvil and hammer was needed:

- 3 man on the elm tree pump to pump and to keep clear the house to the forge

- wetten deck nicely and spread sand

- 3 buckets full of sand

- 3 buckets of water for emergencies and to harden the goods

- keep the fire small

- the 3 fireman have to man the pump until everything is off for sure and all the ashes are lowered overboard in an iron bucket  to the lee side

- check everywhere if any hazards could be still found

Cheers, Daniel

a photo with the  Tic Tac

Posted

You;re right, compared to the tictac, the stove is exceptionally large. :)

I'm still wondering: if this thing is a furnace, that means (almost open) fire.

Therefore, you expect it to be secured to the deck.

However, securing it, implies that it is no longer mobile.... Although, you could use the three fire-man to get the thing to the next deck :)

I do strongly believe that there is the decal sheet missing in this after market kit:

"Not to be used in rough seas"

"Attention content my be hot"

"Open here"

"Oven with care"

"Only one Pizza at the time"

"Insert coins here"

Have to contact the dealer ...

Even though too big for my own build, I could not resist to finish this small kit ...

Victory-forge_6857.jpg

... and the best: It came with two sets of decals :-)

One in original english production and one as frensh bounty. As the second was rather uncommon I decided to opt for the english version.

But me and decals ...

... but with loads of softener I finally succeded :-)

That's a fine specimen you have there Daniel.

I recon that waist height from chimney to floor would be about right for 1/100 scale.

You posting that to some one with all that writing on!!!!!. :)

I love flashbacks of key steps along the way, they help see that forward progress is being made.

but did you skip the chapter on the guys eating? or are they still chewing :)

I'm betting chewing.... salt beef is tough and with a side of ship's biscuit...

is this a common thing to have the dinner ware at the fighting station?  I would have thought it would have  'rose such a clatter'  when the cannons were in use.    the sadder thought of this would have to be,  going to the family and informing them that their son or husband was killed by a flying plate :)

"by a plate....you say?"   "well.....let me tell you.....I've thrown hundreds of plates at the blighter, an' none of 'em ever so much as put a dent in his head!"  "what would have made this any different?"
