  1. I wouldn't use epoxy on the masts because if they have to be removed for whatever reason down the road, you'll have a lot of trouble. Some guys don't use glue at all, so if you have a nice tight fit, I'd leave it unglued, allowing for future adjustment if needed. Furled sails or full sails will both be, lets say not exactly easy, but furled would give you a better view of the rigging if that's how you want to show her. I'd spend a lot of time just reading ahead and going over the steps you'll be going through, because it requires some planning in advance for the order of the lines. You won't want to rig yourself into a corner, making it difficult to run another line when the one you put up earlier is in the way. If that all makes any sense.
  2. No matter how old we get Nenad, we never stop learning and adapting, but the main thing is to have fun doing it.
  3. It's good you are taking a scientific approach and testing with card-stock Nenad.
  4. Well I said I let you know when I spotted those programs on the History Channel Dennis. There's 4 programs on back-to-back, from (9:00 AM to 4:00 PM) all about Titanic. Cheers
  5. Glad you're OK Jay. Water-skiing at 78? You've got way better knees than me.
  6. Sure does look sweet with the deck furnishings in place Marc! Bet you can't wait to get them attached permanently.
  7. Doing those stern decks looks like a complicated process, but you seem to have it licked.
  8. Like the others have said Brian, you're doing a wonderful job on the rigging and I don't think anybody can really fore-see everything that could be done prior.
  9. Those eye-bolts and hooks would be tedious to make for sure Piet, but they came out good. Looking forward to seeing them all mounted and securing the cannon.
  10. Those are some great pictures Nenad. Hold it up to a mirror and let it snap a picture of itself, so we can see the new camera.
  11. The windows came out good Vince, and I like your bowl-bending jig. Creative thinking.
  12. Looks like some difficult painting went on there Dennis, but you smoked through it and made it look great. Rigging those masts is making her stand out as well. Very nice!
  13. The cannon you have re-done look great Piet. Re-dos are a bummer but worth it in the end.
  14. Those are some nicely sewn sails and the look great hanging on the yards. Do you plan to billow them at all Mike?
  15. Hair clips ---huh - never would have thought of that one. That'll leave a great view of the gun-deck Tom, and nice work on the planking.
  16. You're making good progress on those hulls even though you're on vacation John. It looks like we'll be doing some business come November or December, as I've decided finally to fore-go getting a drill-press and just get the MF-70 Micro-Mill. Costs more but I'll be getting more use out of it than the press. I would be interested in your price for it and what shipping will be to Dearborn, MI. Then in December we'll talk about some accessories for it.
  17. They look good to me Sal. Don't think the "average" guy would notice.
  18. What the other guys said Richard! She looks great!
  19. Wow Danny! Definitely not a job for the "faint of heart", but I know you'll work miracles with her. "Miracle Worker" -- Perhaps a new overhead handle above your avatar?
