    I am finally back home and in my shipyard. A larger work area along with the rest of my tools. I put my model on my work table and started to look it over to see what damage was done to it. So far what I found can be redone but will take some time. Here are the major problem areas and the one that gave me the most trouble to begin with. The area marked is and area that has to be redone do to damage. I already printed out a new sheet and am cutting out the parts. David B

    Since this is on operational model I did not see what you used as a water tight seal with the deck and the hatches. David B

    I have never been much of a drinker. And with the medication I am taking at the moment I do not think it would be a smart idea However at one time I would have a shot of Jack Daniels maybe once a week followed by a beer or two. The stuff never got me drunk it would just make me sick. I drank for the flavor alone. David B

    When i was still in retail I experimented with the tissue that was used with shoe boxes and found it perfect for sails at the scale we work in. I cut and glued the panels and and when i finished I lied the look. The I have also used rice paper to do the same thing. Has anyone tried silkspan? David B

    Mfrs are interested in making a profit. they rarely concern themselves with the accuracy of the plans they use so long as it is legal and they do not have to shell out any more cash. I remember years ago I was given a kit of the Missouri. I forget if it was Revelle or Monogram. The entire superstructure was off. However most builders will not check this stuff out and will build it as is. That is usually the customer companies are going for. David B

    One thing that may help is to coat the former with wax or a poly so that glue does not stick to it. David B

    Igor, if you wish to simulate glass Krystal Kleer is used by many people to simulate it. I experimented with watered down Elmers. Good luck. David B

    Gary view the former as a modified plug. Actual boats were built using this method. When planking just bend the planks to fit and when finished they will hold their shape. David B

    Well done your planking came out wonderfully and the moulding adds to the effect. David B

    Gary, Your second photo down showing the center keel and bulwarks looks off a little like the hull is warped. Before you proceed any further my advice would be to double check your work to make sure it is perfectly straight. If it is straight then I will have to get a new pair of glasses. David B
