    OC.

Agreed OC. Also you're able to sand 1mm walnut  a great deal more than you think, so when you think you're done do it again.

I got that from someone (can't remember who) on here on my 1st build.

Indeed, your boat looks very nice! Yep, your description of model boat building seems accurate enough.

    Welcome to MSW!

Despite any errors you've made, that is a fine model for your first attempt! Don't beat yourself up.

There are some great kits out today that even exceed the quality of the one you bought. I really do hope you can share a new build log with us in future.

Eamonn - this is superb. I wholeheartedly recommend the Winchelsea as your next build. No way will you be batting too high up the order!

Pour yourself a Guiness - you deserve one.

    All the best

    Fred

    Eamonn I couldn't agree more, I think you'd do a fantastic job with Winnie😊

    Ballahoo is coming along beautifully!!!

  4. Looks like another good model on the way Craig and I never realized the Israeli army used Shermans. The things you can learn with this forum 😁

We played Wooden Ships And Iron MenUsually once a week or so on Tuesday. The day when we all had common time off. For me it was after a full shift on Graveyard before I went home to get some sleep. Once in a while we would do Richthofen's War or War Of  The Roses instead. One of the guys would take on anyone in Stalingrad So long as he was able to play the Germans. He LIVED for the day once a year or so where he would win and take Stalingrad! Jutland would have been good as well but like Mark said it took up a large room to play in and we didn't have the room needed.

Avalon Hill produced some pretty good games back in the day. I think Wooden Ships And Iron Men is still available as a digital game that you can play on your computer. And of course there is World Of Warships available these days.

I never played any of those but then I was stuck in the Napoleonic wars and the AWI which I preferred as you didn't need huge armies.

I took that photo with a flash.

Here, I used the same photos and adjusted the light in photo editor. Do these look any better?
