Thanks Gents for your very kind comments and for all who hit the like button. I shall be putting a short history of the ship together and fixing it to the case, most likely bottom left corner, that's the biggest open space. For now gents I wish you all Happy Modelling. Be Good mobbsie

Hi Denis, Not sure who you'd use here mate, Clooney just fell overboard, Peck is still fighting the white whale and Eastwood is busy shootin up the bad guys, how about the skipper from Amity, Jaws, ( can't think of his name ). . I reckon the forum brothers can come up with someone. What you are doing here is I believe, surpassing anything you have done in the past mate, it really is wonderful. Be Good mobbsie

Just think how many new experiences Grants had mate, you may consider yourself to be most fortunate your not in that league just yet. Mind you I'm catching up pretty quickly. Love what your doing with your planking mate. Be Good mobbsie

Hi Augie, I really cant add anything to the plaudits you have already received, suffice to say that I totally agree with all of them. Regarding the Bulkheads when beating into action, all the bulkheads and cabin furniture were removed and placed below the waterline to avoid damage, this allowed a complete through deck for the gun captains and powder monkeys. Looking forward to further updates mate. Be Good mobbsie

Hi Jack, Good to have with us at last mate, you've made a good start on the jig. Just take it easy and ease yourself back into it. I've not made any mistakes at all mate ( don't listen to Grant ), all my extra's are test pieces and I decided early on that I was going to put some wood into my scrap box, (eerrr test box). Hi Carl & Popeye, Thanks for your very kind comments guys and thanks to all who pressed the like button. To answer your questions, Popeye, No mate, no ties with the port other than she was commanded by Nelson for a short time, he comes from Norfolk which is just a short distance from here. The Redoubt is a museum and is open to the public all summer, they also put events on like period re-enactments. It's a very popular venue. Carl, She will have a home there for as long as they want to display her, as far as I'm concerned she will be on permanent loan. Hope that answer's your questions guys. To all I wish you a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year. Be Good mobbsie

Hi Guys, I sincerely hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are still enjoying the holidays. Aldo, it's great to hear from you mate, I hope you are feeling a little better. Further to my last regarding the final resting place for the Aggy, she is being put on display at our local Napoleonic Redoubt Fort. The fort was built in 1808 to repel a French attack, it garrisoned a regiment of infantry as well as artillery detachments, as a main armament it had 26 x 24 pounders and had a direct line of fire to Felixstowe. This will all happen in the new year when they make space available. Be Good mobbsie

Very very nice Peter. It's surprising what detail can be put on the anchors, I made my pudding's with both black and white thread, also I put some studs onto the anchor shafts. Never even thought about the stocks, I like that a lot, it's a minor detail but very effective. Well done mate. Be Good mobbsie

There's no doubt about it mate, both look good, but black is best. I know it only a test piece but be careful, it looks to me that after sanding on the blackened copper bolts you have some natural copper just showing through. It all sits nicely into your jig mate so yes, you are good to go. Now stop reading this and get back to work. Be Good mobbsie

Avast there CaptainSteve, methinks your gonna need a bigger boat. Sorry to hear of your mishap mate, as Mark says, follow the sawbones advice for a speedy recovery, but it is hard I know. Barrels, fruit, nuts, spears & buckets, is there no end to your talents, love it mate. Be Good mobbsie

Hi Augie, She's coming together real nice mate. Those cannon do look the business mate, it's always nice to get some teeth in place. If you do put the tackles on what size blocks will you be using? I would just add that the gun stations were a crowded and busy part of any ship. I really laughed at all the domestic advice you've been getting mate, it seems the Ned Kelly look is in in Aussie. If I can just add my little nugget, I just ask the question and look at her with big puppy dog eyes, I might also add that it hasn't worked yet, so I might just go for spiked shoes and the Ned Kelly armour. Looking forward to further updates. Be Good mobbsie

Well done mate, it's not the easiest part of the build is it. Will you be using the decorative strip to finish of the bow sections or are you leaving it as it is. Perhaps CC could send you some more or do you have enough for the Transom decoration. They do give you only just enough for each job with very little spare. Either way mate she'll look good. About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
