1:24.........big model! very nice.......... really good progress on the P 40 -
I hated to put a like to that one lou.......all I can say is that I'm glad my two are grown. yea......I'm a bit short on patients at times myself. this is new to them....I get it.........but I listen to what my older son is going through with his tribe { I think he has three in school now}....he's literally had to go to the school to pick up the homework! colleges and tech schools have been using a method they've developed for a few years now...you would think they would adopt the same method and go from there. take care of the home front and don't worry........we as well as the model will still be here

sweet paint job -
the list of captured planes is long.........B 25's, B 24's....a couple P 38 lightnings........British planes....and others. the treaty of Versailles, signed at the end of WWI limited the Germans from building up their air force...what they had was to be completely destroyed. as Tom pointed out, Anthony Fokker moved his entire operation to the Netherlands......including aircraft already built. by the beginnings of WWII, Germany had built up a small air force, but most of the county's planes were geared for civilian transport. when I saw the Wulfe Hound, I thought it was too good a subject to pass over

they were use to run secret missions and reconnaissance.........some of those missions were secret bomb runs. they had FW 200's, Ju90's and Ju 290's...none of these could be retrofitted for heavy bomber operations. I did read through the chapter........it is in there.......called the Dornier Do200, I must have mistook it for another plane and didn't see the correlation. ....this comes from the book of KG 200. you can add 'Wally's Wheels', 'the Ground Hog', and 'Badger Beauty V'.......they were captured later. some were damaged severely, and used for parts. I did get a picture of the tail gear tub installation.......

hope you can get the job done. something to try and make would be a brass 'comb' it doesn't need to be very wide, but the teeth will need to match the ribbing on the panel side. that way after the putty is applied, you can scrape off the excess without ruining the detail. a second thought I have is using a thread pitch gauge...you can find them anywhere tools are sold..........already made with very little work

strange they didn't call them that in the book. there is a glossary in the back of the book listing every type of plane that the Germans had, as well as the ones they captured and lost. they had short range bombing capability at the time. I'll have to read through the chapter about the B 17 again to see if I missed this.

considering they are laid out like that {as they all would be}, they'd be the first thing seen. they look good though......nice

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
