  1. Gary, This is wonderful. Sort of like watching a movie for the second time. You see the details you missed the first time.
  2. Wow! Just beautiful, Doris. A real masterpiece in the making.
  3. I'm using a Hitachi that I got for a good price. Quiet, relatively vibration free. I made a zero clearance plug from plywood shimmed to be perfectly flat with the table. I'll make a post on my blades when I get home tonite. Greg H. (dvm27) recommended them on the old site and all my info is at home.
  4. Doris, Thank you for sharing this with us. I look forward to following along and watching a master at work.
  5. Nice to you re-starting the buildlog, Foremast. This is an interesting ship/cog/boat....something that floats. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to following along.
  6. Looking super Larry. Those beams are a bear and your's came out perfectly.
  7. Hmm... is that the one with the toothpick that holds from the other side of the frame?
  8. I'd say go for it. You've got a big thing going for you.... motivation. So, take your time, don't rush building it. Add as much or as little detailing as you like. Search the build logs for plastic and you be amazed at what can be done. Do this before even starting the kit. As questions of the other builders, and that includes the non-Constitution builds. Then start a build log.
  9. Pete, I think unless someone tells me different, let's leave this right here. I'll pin it to top as this should be something that will help out anyone doing the build. I'm sure that anyone build this will appreciate it.
  10. Check EdT's Naiad build log. I think they may have come from him.
  11. For loading and unloading, probably stacked somewhere out of the way. For "Quarters", the grating were removed and sent down below to the hold.
  12. If you want to stain, Elmers and Min-Wax make fillers that are stainable.
  13. This is what I think 42Rocker was talking about: http://www.micromark.com/sliding-table-for-microlux-tilting-arbor-table-saw,7505.html You can make on or buy one. I made one for my 10-inch table saw to play with cutting logs. Works a treat. Also I bought one for my MM table saw (3" blade) as I was having a lazy moment and decided to buy rather than make one.
  14. Sinan, Post a picture and ask. With the collective minds around here, you'll probably get at least one good, solid answer.
  15. Borge, This is like watching it again for the first time. Just some super stunning work. I'm enjoying it.
  16. I moved them to the downloads area and removed them from here. Sorry 42rocker, Pete gets credit as I just moved his post. I can't begin to thank others for their finds. The reason we move them is so that visitors don't get the benefit of the drawings without signing up and doing a buid. Too darn many pirates.....
  17. Popeye, It would appear that the crowd is getting a tad unruly... and hungry. I thought this hobby was supposed to teach us patience. tsk tsk.... oh... make mine broiled not boiled. ahem... <cough> with a touch of butter please <cough>
  18. Very nicely done, Popeye. Thanks for reminding what is waiting in the wings....
  19. Crackers, Take the route you're taking. Give credit where credit is due. In the case of Wikipedia, for example, credit them. They do credit their sources so that's a good thing. Same for encyclopedias. One of the big issues is simply "intent". And around here, out "intent" is not to make money off of someone else's work.
