  1. Consider it done, Martin. We want anyone who searches for your builds to be able to find them.
  2. So...let's see.. the moon has to be in the 7th house and Jupiter aligned with Mars? Then we get to sing along also. Ok..I recall the Eindecker, the D-VII and and DR-I....didn't know there was a D-VIII. NM, just found it with a quick Google. The DR-1 was always my favorite but a bit too skittish for my taste.
  3. Augie, As I recall, they didn't back off before firing. The torpedo would have just bobbed around a bit. I think John hit it right... "suicide spear". Reference the Hunley...
  4. HIde the detail? The size of the sails for those spars will hide the whole ship!
  5. Ok.,. I'm confused... who's log is this? Boris or Mort's?????? Boris (Martin) has the first post, but the title indicates it's Mort's. Does it need to be changed?
  6. Impressive looking deck furniture Sarah. Hmm... there might be something to the concept of a wrong hammer and fingernail polish.
  7. Bob, As I recall they weren't released but detonated on impact. There are some plans for the ones that were screwed into the ships hull and then the fuse was set but coppered hulls put a stop to that. I'd think running up a ship and detonating it would have been more than exciting to the crew of the picket boat. Possibly fatal.
  8. He's right.. the cross-section is a very good way to get started. Take a look at the build logs when you get a chance. If this is not the time for you to do it, keep it in mind for when it is.
  9. Sven, This is just amazing work. The closest thing I can find to a salute emoticon: -->
  10. I don't remember seeing the musket rack. Is this new? I love that candle.
  11. Gil, You may be doing a "kit" but even us scratch types can learn something. Thanks for sharing it.
  12. Thanks BE. I wish I'd seen the whole process in real time from the beginning. Great build!
  13. There is one: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/67-so-where-do-you-do-yours-then-ship-building-that-is/
  14. Caroline We'll blame Laerte for pushing you to the darkside. The cabin accoutrements are great! I wonder where "the old engineer" is? Haven't seen him here yet.
  15. Tim, That is one smooth and clean hull and it's coming together nicely. I think Alfons made a good point about priming it.
  16. Good fix... well done... I think you're pulling a fast one and didn't break anything at all. At least we can't see and there's no evidence. Let's not forget Wimpy, I think his name was for his famous quote: "For a hamburger today, I will gladly pay you Tuesday." Yeah, even moderators know how to digress.... :P :P
  17. And don't let Sjors pressure you. He can only fire cotton balls.
  18. Frank, Those are some very nice sails. Well done. And you say you're going to make the rigging "workable"..... wow!
  19. Just fantastic, Michael. That deck is just gorgeous.
  20. Remco, Wonderful as always. And as always.. a fine tutorial.
  21. Joss, Your build is one of the "gold standards" in my opinion. There's some deep sadness that yours was one of the one's lost.
  22. I'm with Augie. And I'll add this is a refresher course in shipwright artistry.
