Thank you Kurt, I found some interesting kits on their website...… but I guess I better finish what I have in my "shipyard" waiting for attention, before dropping the anchor (instead of pulling the trigger) for one of their kits.

I stumbled over this manufacturer located in the US, in Tennesse to be exact. The name is Iron Shipwrights and they seem to make very nice resin kits, most of them are coming with PE parts (no need to buy other sets). Just wondering if anyone has experience with their products?

Wayne, first of all, a warm , As for card models, they are great as you don't need much of tools. Just make sure the scissor and knife are super-sharp, because it will be necessary. Start a build log - with pictures and text. She will be an interesting build I like to follow. I placed an order the other day from JSC and their communication service is outstanding. My order was shipped out today, Tuesday 30. Am looking forward to do some "carding".

Byrnes machinery dust collection
Nirvana replied to Bill Hill's topic in Modeling tools and Workshop Equipment
I have used a Festool vac at a Woodcraft location, I truly want one! They are quiet and very efficient! And the hose is so very flexible. Here is a link to them. https://www.woodcraft.com/products/dust-extractor-ct-15-e-hepa-festool?via=573621bd69702d0676000002%2C576455d369702d2f2f0013a2%2C5764562a69702d2f2f0013a6 -
Perfect! Those pads are great to use. But they have to be cleaned, still easy to scratch the surface if they have any dirt on them. Oh btw, let the paint cure for at least 72 hours before any buffing commence.

Sea Witch 1846 by Zooker - RESTORATION
Nirvana replied to Zooker's topic in - Build logs for subjects built 1801 - 1850
Thank you Bill and Louie, for stepping up and helping with good recommendations when it comes the restoration. It's not easy when seeing the ship only by pictures. This is what Modelshipworld is about. -
Outstanding paintjob! To buff the painted area use 6000 grit and water then with feather weight pressure get that shine!

The paint job on my yacht wasn't done by me, I had an auto body shop with paint both doing it for 50 dollars excluding the cost of primer, paint and clear coating. I couldn't have done that nice job myself. That being said, using Krylon spray can product shows that you are really good at painting.

True Blue is a great name, and in my opinion a neutral too. I would have given my RC sailing yacht that name, hence the color, unless I had promised my wife to name the yacht after her. Mary II

Hi from15 nm west of Hamburg / Northern Germany
Nirvana replied to Oboship's topic in New member Introductions
Hi Uwe, and a warm welcome to MSW, we do have a gallery where you can post your finished models. Finished models are being rotated at the top-bar. So, please upload them and describe models, any story around them - but no build logs, thank you. Start a build log of your current ship and when running into troubles start asking questions, we are here to help. -
Buildlog is gone
Nirvana replied to Kyak's topic in Using the MSW forum - **NO MODELING CONTENT IN THIS SUB-FORUM**
Kyak, We are so sorry that your log got accidentally deleted, we have moved and tagged thousands of build logs. Any deletion is pure accidental, not on purpose. Again, we are sorry for this mistake. -
I truly like the white deck caulking. Makes it looks so crisp and clean. What caulking did you use? You have to be extreme careful when it comes to the varnish of the deck so it doesn't dissolve the caulking.

I am so glad you got this model. You have done a fantastic job of recovering her. She needs a special place in the house to honor your father.

Henke, Just checking in with you and the progress of HMS Hood. I know the summer is killing warm in Sweden, my native country. And you might enjoying time out on the water rather than the workshop. Enjoy your summer and we are all curious about the diorama.

Hej ubjs, welcome to our world and nice start of Danmark. You are one of very few building Danmark, so your build log will be an asset for our build log bank. One of the kits on my shelf waiting to build Danmark. So I am looking forward to follow along with yours. I see a section build in the background, please let us know more about it and start a build log of it as well.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
