More work  - tonight  I finished the boat deck railings by fitting the section above the hanger/roller doors, then I made some tarps again from thin paper cut into a 4.5mm strip, the cut to the lengths to fit the railings.

Here are a few more pics -

Thanks carl,   the top rail black color represents black tar/paint colored hemp ropes that were/are used on most warships  still to this day I believe.

OC.

Not only rope, e.g. on the tug ships Smit Rotterdam, and Smit Nederland the top rails are metal, painted black

Saturday!   do you know what Saturday is?   - Boat day,    so I looked up my pontos build schedule for the different boats and pe bits,   so I started with the Admirals Barge,  this has a pe floor that was fitted then painted flat white,  after that was dried I fitted the pe deck part,  next off I had to shape the front cabin section and fit it, next off was the rear cabin.

I have put it aside to set before moving on to the next one.

Pontos adds a lot to the ship's boats, which would be rather plain without the extra details. Nice, OC.

Firstly a Huge Thank You for all the likes and comments  and taking my build over the  20.000  views mark - Amazing.🤩DSC00211.thumb.JPG.70b1e1d073916b9df1070d599b50a2d9.JPG

Boat number two  -  in the shape of the 45ft Fast motor launch,  this started off with the kit hull, and also the part deck from the kit,  but the kit deck part needed cannibalizing just leaving the front lower cabin section, this was cut away and shaped then glued to the pe deck part,  next I had to make up three pe cabin sections and glue them on the pe deck.

Here are a few pics  also showing the size comparison with the Admirals Barge.

Then I started work on the Pom Pom's,  I have decided to use the bulk of the kit parts but they will be cleaned up and have a few of the pe parts attached including the top detail for the ammo feed boxes, and the front cage detail, also the top site details.

The barrels look fine including the fluted ends so I will stay with the kit ones(they are already attached to the body making things easier)

Here are a few pics including one next to a Malteaser  for scale.

That was my last one aswell  but  -  it rolled of the surface onto the floor then rolled into the back yard, with so much motion it went it up and over our wall and into our back neighbours garden, it then rolled down his garden upto his door - up his door and in through his letter box,    I then heard him debating with his wife who was going to eat this mysterious chocholate supprise.

Well thats what I told the wife.🤫

Good day everyone,  more progress with the pom pom, next stage was to trim off the platic barrel shrouds, then make the pe versions and fit these, next I made the motor from some 2mm dowel I have, this was cut to length then glued in place (slightly larger than life but better than what was there),  next was to trim the bottom of the pom pom assembly as there was two pips that stopped it sitting correctly on the base.

Then I glued it down and joggled it into position,   last off all was to fit two hand rails towards the front of the base.

Here are a few pics including how it looks dry fitted to the deck with the boats.

Hi all,     firstly thank you sincerely for all the likes and comments.

So more work with the pom poms - firstly it occured to me that the first one was sitting to high, this was a combination affect of the molded bas it sits on being stepped, and also there is some frame work molded under the pom pom platforms,   so I decided to have a go at  filing the bottom base of the pom pom and also scrape off some of the stepped piece on the deck.

Next was to construct pom pom number two, using the same procedure as before  except this time I was able to file the base of the pom pom  before fitting anything - then all the extra bits was placed on it.

So a few pics of two of them dry fitted also a pic of my scriblings.

And it seems like those injection pin marks are always in a place where they will be the most noticeable. 😏
