Hello Frank,

How are you going?

Nice video.  The sound was ok too. But I agree with Augie, it needs background music  :)

I won't tell.  But if 'you know who' sees this, he will surely go for it and give it a try.

Take care,

Anja

Hey Frank, glad to hear your surgery went well.  Really cool video - your Supply looks amazing.

Sorry I haven't had time to check in on you lately - my wife had the twins three weeks ago, and things have been a little crazy.

Hope you're feeling better my friend.

Thanks very much Frank :)  Everyone is good and healthy here, albeit sleep deprived.

I'm hoping to get my Badger done by the end of the year so that I can start on my Pegasus.  My standing rigging is about done, and I'm up to the furled sails part now.  Your Supply pictures are going to come in really handy, just hope mine come out half as nice as yours. :)

Hi Frank,

Video and sound were fine for me, and I'm using Firefox 19.(something). Probably IE (slow as a wet week) or a LAN issue if it didn't download properly at the time.

  • 2 weeks later...

Frank, I juist got a chance to go through this log, and your thoughtful weathering turns this from a great ship model into a work of art.

I love how the decks are scrubbed and the rigging is taut, like a well-run crew would do, but the hull and sails show the wear of long voyaging.  Do you do a lot of military and or railroad models? (I just ask because showing realistic wear is so important in those modelling areas.)  Thank you sharing the "barnacle infestation" techniques!

Hi Frank,

I'm very sorry for being late as usual  , I just learned now about your confinement last month when I checked your log after you dropped by my Triton build (thanks very much for dropping me a line there, it is much appreciated :) ) I'm pleased to know that your surgery went well my friend, hoping for your speedy recovery. The video looks great and works fine mate, thanks for sharing B)

Best regards,

Morning Frank!

Catching up a bit myself; glad to hear your surgery went well and you are back in action!  And love the video - I have thought many times about doing it, but I would have to be a bit better at building for it to work; right now anything I did would only be appropriate with the benny hill theme behind it!

You on the other hand; now that is a video i would love to watch!!  Especially your weathering!

Hey Frank, to ease back into your Supply how about some more photo's, so i can see how you've done things.Did you end up doing parell beads on the top two masts? If it was'nt for your photo's already Frank i don't think i would have got this far, thanks again, ron.

Hi Ron..... yes I did the parell beads on the foremast (2 ) and the gaff boom. They were easy enough to do ,but tying them around the mast itself  was a pain, for me anyway. I don't think I tied them on correctly, but they're on and that's the way they stay :P . Are there any particular photos you need Ron ? I'm going to try and get back and finish this up, I've got all the rigging in place , just have to tie them off  to their proper place . I just ordered a new macro lens for my camera, so hopefully I can get some good close up pictures when it comes in. I'm glad that my build has been of some help to you , but  you're doing an excellent job without it. Just let me know what it is you need and I'll be happy to do what I can.

Frank

Scoot.... always nice hearing from you.... like I told Ron, hope to finish up my build shortly... When are you going to get your build back up? Its such  great work.

It should really be seen by all the new and old( for those that missed it ) members here!!

Frank,

I'm coming late to this party, and I have no excuse except that there are so many parties on this site that it's hard to keep up. Nevertheless, I wanted to join the chorus of praise on 3 fronts: first, your return from the hospital (many of us are getting to the age where the medical profession looms more largely in our lives!), second, for the sails work. I've often wanted to include them in my models, but I get scared off by the needlework involved...They look good! Finally, the video, which played fine for me with Chrome, a nice idea, especially because we get to hear your voice which just adds another dimension to our connections to one another. Thanks for posting.
