Old Collingwood Posted March 30, 2020 Author #33 Posted March 30, 2020 Seat assembled - painted and weathered, then the belts from the enclosed pe were cut off and glued into place, then when set I did a couple of coats of brushed on flat coat, then I placed the seat in the tub and routed the rear harness through the rear framework and glued it in place. Old Collingwood Posted March 31, 2020 Author #34 Posted March 31, 2020 Evening all, hope everyone is ok - keep up your spirits we will get through this, anyway work continues starting with the instrument panel, this is a multi stage thing starting with the frame - this has three sections of PE to be attached to it, when set I painted underneath and around the frame in Green, then I built and painted the compass, this was then glued in place under the frame, I then did a bit of shading with a pancil and finished off by highlighting, next off was to build the gun sight - this is a clear part in two sections, I glued both together then painted around the frame. Hi Lou, thank you for the kind words, the instrument panel is made of pre painted PE sections - a backing piece with the clocks painted on, then next the frontage with the dials and last a center section, after fitting them I dropped some semi gloss top coat onto the dials, superb craftsmanship. Old Collingwood Posted April 1, 2020 Author #48 Posted April 1, 2020 A bit more progress to day (boy I love the fit of this kit so far - it almost falls together) next was to paint and fit the two pedals, quite straight forward they pop in below the bottom frame, next I glued the other side to close up the cabin bath tub assembly. After putting this aside - I woked on the two fuselage sides adding a few more fittings that were then painted and weathered, I thne did a dry fit - all seems well with the fuselage going together well. Old Collingwood Posted April 3, 2020 Author #54 Posted April 3, 2020 Hi all, right "Pictures-pictures-pictures" I did some light wet and dry sanding along the join seams (not a lot) then It was time to start on the lower wing section, this is a one piece unit except for the wing tips, fitted to this is a strut and weel well walls, these are made up in three sections each side, again very good fit and quality, to aid strength I ran some glue around the outsides. I thought I would include a pic to show the excellent fine detail on the bottom of the wing - this is evedent all over the model.
