Lovely clean work. Usually the first head beam is in one piece and scored on to the front of the stem head. I've not seen this arrangement before.

Hi druxey,

as a example: the Diana class frigate in Science Museum has the same arrangement...

Current build: HMS Sphynx, 20 gun ship launched in 1775 at Portsmouth, Hampshire.

On the drawing board: HMS Anson, 64 gun third rate ship of the line, launched in 1781 at Plymouth

There are only a handful of modellers whom produce such clean crisp work so consistently; and your work is well up there.  Thanks for sharing.

cheers

Pat

Hello and thank you for warm words and likes!

The "head pieces" (is it right term?) are usually represented on the contemporary models as one piece of wood. On the plans that show this area in detail, you can see a small rail attached:

So I have tried to implement this:

They are first fixed with a few drops of glue, because I still have to adjust the seats of ease in the corners

In English, it is called the 'false rail'. The inset panel is very nicely carved, Alex. There is usually a semi-circular notch at the forward end for the boomkin to sit in.
