  4. Hi Bill and welcome to Model Ship World. I am glad that you have started a build log for your Benjamin Latham model. There are several build log of this ship on MSW that you can refer to while building your model. Just click on the tag "benjamin w latham" under your title above and it will bring up all of the Benjamin Latham builds on MSW. With your experience on building R/C aircraft, you should have no problems building your Latham.
  5. You are making good progress Richard. This builds into a very nice model when completed and I am glad you restarted it.
  6. Welcome to Model Ship World Richard. I am glad to hear that you have restarted your Dallas and will be doing a build log on this kit. It is always nice when a previously started kit is restarted. I have a few of mine that I need to finish.

  8. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your Corgi. Pets become part of your family and their passing leaves a void in your life. I know it is hard, but glad you are back in your workshop making sawdust.
  9. Thank you for this excellent review of the Enterprise kit. I look forward to seeing a build log of this kit. It looks like Tom put in a lot of research in designing and manufacturing this kit. I wish him much success.
  10. The Revenue Cutter looks like a nice kit for your second build. You are taking the right approach as you advance your ship modeling skills. When you are making the hull station line templates, a good material to use is picture frame matting material that you can get from Michaels or any frame shop. It holds a good edge and is better than cardboard.
  11. Beautiful work. Is your mandolin built from a kit or are you scratch building it?
  12. Congratulations on completing your dory. Please post a picture or pictures of your completed model. We would love to see them.
  13. Amazing details. Excellent job on this. I feel that I am looking at a real engine and accessories. You are building an award winning model.
  14. Kev, Welcome to Model Ship World. The Sherbourne builds into a nice model and you will find many build logs on this model that you can use for reference on your build.
  15. Gerry, you have picked a fantastic ship to build. I have been following Chuck's build and the other builds on MSW and have been amazed at the beautiful models that are being built. That is also a nice looking band saw you purchased. I look forward to following your build log.
  16. Welcome to Model Ship World Gerry. I hope you start a build log on your Occre Terror. Your lutherie skills will definitely help in your build.
  17. Hi Robert and welcome to Model Ship World. I am glad that you decided to start a build log on your Syren. There are many Syren build logs on MSW that you can refer to and the kit's designer, Chuck Passaro, is a site administrator of MSW. If you have any questions about your build, I am sure you will quickly get answers from the members here. The Syren is one of my favorite kits and it has an excellent set of instructions that will help you build an exceptional model. Good luck on your build.
  18. Nice job on your Chris-Craft model. You have accomplished something that a lot of first time wooden boat modelers do not do and that is you finished your model. Congratulations!
  19. Welcome Uwe to Model Ship World. I echo the above comments about seeing the progress on your Jalouse. If you have any questions, you are in the right place to get answers.
  20. The extra time you are spending on the hull will pay off big time when you apply your color coats. This is a really nice build and I cannot wait to see the hull painted with the colors you selected.
  21. Very nice and detailed build log. You have made a good start on this model. I like the color combination. The extra care you took framing the model really paid off. This is definitely not a model for a beginner. You are well on your way to completing a beautiful model.
  22. After seeing your models of the New Jersey and Yamamoto, you will not have any problems building the Syren. It is one of my favorite ships and the instructions for this kit are very detailed. I look forward to following your progress.
