  1. Well they sure look nice, so I'd say it's worth the effort.
  2. I'm late to this build, but I'm going to follow so I don't miss your final video. Outstanding work and fantastic videos!
  3. I can see that I need to invest in a nice miniature table saw if I’m going to go far in this hobby. I got 11 out of each on my 10” Jet table saw. Plus, I had to count my fingers after each pass.
  4. I’m missing you, Matthias. I hope you’re doing well. Your Winchelsea is beautiful!
  5. Greg, I’m curious to know roughly how many 3/64” planks do you get out of each 2” billet? Thanks, Matt
  6. Hi Bob. I was just thinking about your predicament of being all caught up. Have you considered getting started on the guns while you wait? Just a thought.
  7. That looks great, Peter. Did your 3D printed bowsprit cap look much different than the kit version?
  8. Thanks, Edward and WalrusGuy. And thanks for the likes, too. I’m glad to be moving into chapter 3 soon. It’s the part I’ve been looking forward to the most.
  9. Looking good, Svein. It’s very satisfying to cut your own planks and then see them on the model, isn’t it?
  10. It was a big day for me today. I finished planking the port side. It came out quite a bit better than the starboard, but I had a lot more experience to work with. It’s not devoid of errors, but I’m pretty happy with it. Here are some photos including before and after WOP. I took the dead on bow and stern photos and you can see that they don’t match up very well. That’s something I’ll try to do better on subsequent models.
  11. Well that’s annoying! Does the capstan show up on any scale drawings so you can tell what went wrong? Do you have enough scraps to make it from scratch?
  12. It sounds like you’re on the mend. I hope you’re feeling better every day. Nice work on your deck furniture.
  13. It looks fantastic! Your work is very precise. How did you drill those mounting holes so perfectly horizontal and correctly spaced?
  14. Are those spiders any good at planking? I might need to borrow them.
  15. It looks like cheating to have that little guy paint your model for you. He’s doing an amazing job for you.
  16. Don’t feel bad about the time it takes, Edward. I’ve been working on my planking for several months. I remember that a Chuck said not to rush and it should take six months.
  17. That looks great, Peter. It's really cool that you have pictures of the real thing to compare to and make it as true to life as possible.
  18. It’s looking good. I’m certain that your precision will pay off.
  19. Beautiful work, Scott! I really like how your furled sails look. It’s an amazing looking model and I think it’s neat that you can drive six hours and go see the real thing.
  20. Welcome aboard, Lars. Your Beagle is looking great! This is one I'd like to build some time down the road. I recommend posting an introduction in the New Member forum. Also, in your profile you can modify your signature to add a link to your build log that will help people find it from anywhere that you post on the site. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy MSW.
  21. Peter, it’s good to see your post, my friend. I hope you’ve been well. Your chain plates look great!
  22. I hear you. But it’s easy to say something looks really good, even when you don’t know much about how it was done. I’m still pretty new myself, with a lot to learn. My biggest problem with this website is that it makes me want to build about a hundred more ship models.
