  1. Nice planking job Daria. A bit of filler and then ... sanding it nice and smooth. P.s. Your drawing is hanging in my study
  2. Or dump 'em in a chalk pit ... When I see that paravane, and the one from Yamato ... a pitty Fly Hawk didn't have an upgrade for that item.
  3. AMS ... I recently started to look for PE sets, before I look at the plastic foundation ... I do like those craines Mr Bunny. Haven't started at mine yet, but it will come soon. First I need to get back to the work bench!
  4. Hello Clare, Let me know when you start on the temple. Wouldn't want to miss it!!! Cheers
  5. You made me feel double welcome! "Even better, as there are NO decent references I can't be proven wrong!" Well, that's another refreshing way of looking at things ... With your experience, you will come out with something scrumptious! Cheers
  6. It seems I'm catching up constantly on your builds, Greg! You are adding some nice details for a plastic kit mediocre on details. I like that mast, and the full PE structures. I know from Fly Hawk they didn't replace the antenna "legs" on the Musashi either. Fortunately I had the Pontos. Your weathering will be a lot more compared to Yamato. What kind of paint are you using now - since you won't use Vallejo in your airbrush anymore.
  7. Not much space for the high brass guys Mr Bunny. I like how you are progressing though
  8. Thanks for the Maui backdrop, missing the ratlines in them though It's not just the admiral which earned the trip. The way you seem to have been working makes it a valid outing for your too !
  9. Interesting topic, with all the digital misery we get thrown at us. Using a bird for fishing instead of a sonar. I can imagine the brine soaking of the nails to be creating a better hold for the nails. Rust makes a rough surface, so it should make a nail that much harder to remove. Tough cookie Mr Nasu! Got another interesting book for you, rather corpulent though. The Japanese House Heinrich Engel Pub. Charles E. Tuttle (Japan) ISBN 0-8048-0304-8 This was my first introduction to Japanese building. It has some very interesting joinery in it, which shows the genius of Japanese carpentry - I used some to make a closet/cupboard. I have seen a lot of woodworking, but us westerners can't compare to the orientals
  10. Thanks Denis. Pat, If he does, I'll have one for you too Could go simultaneously Greg, Finding WiFi is not the point, getting entrance to the network is a lot harder. Luckily I'm back home now. unfortunately, I've been working my hiney off to get a major software release finished ... not much building or spraying
  11. Thought you'd drowned on her maiden trip!!! Good to see her finished. Like the case, shows her off nicely CHeers
  12. Pat! Back from Canada? Stockholm was much more. Besides, I had a tremendous good guide on Saterday afternoon and Sunday. Mike showed me a lot of pearls, and I can't wait to go back to do some further exploring!!! Back has improved a lot. Hardly feel it anymore. Maybe walking through Stockholm did the trick, if so I'll get my physician to write me a recurring prescription to go there
  13. As Denis wrote, Jesse. After painting them, the belaying pins won't show if they are made of wood or brass. Considering the quantity of rope for the rigging, they will be hardly visible ( size wise too)
  14. Clare Glad it is to your liking. I had a hard time putting it aside to go to work, or bed. I've got Douglas Brooks' book which I enjoyed reading a lot, it doesn't surprise me he knows Azby. There is something appealing about the old ways they still practise their trades in Nippon.
  15. Patrick, Had to do some catching up. I like the pict where you hold her in front of the light. Nice progress on the interior too. Cheers
  16. As Ken said. Have been off the air. Just got back ... pfff sore feet and shins, and a mind full of images Pictures of Musashi ... first need to get rid of my nagging employer. Even a long weekendoff seems to much to them!!!
