Thanks Sherry! I'm having difficultys deciding what step to do next so I have to think the final steps before rigging through. /Matti

Many thanks mobbsie and Nigel! Mobbsie, she had one of the falconets strapped to the deck and I wanted to get that on my model. The afternoon sun turned out really great for taking pics, so I took a few more and updated the post above. /Matti

I just went to the medieval museum in Stockholm and when I looked at the ships there I thought of your great model Vivian. It's turning out very nice and I like your taste for these ships. /Matti

Thanks Vivian, Nigel, Jan and Jazz, your comments are most appreciated! I agree about the dark color and I'm happy Vasa had black carriages. I've mounted 10 of them now, 6 more to go. /Matti

Hey all, here are pics of the first mounted cannons. I found it really hard to descide on the rigging an find a balance between accuracy and not destroying the sense of scale. Making these gave me many lessons and I'm pretty sure I will do it different next time. /Matti

Yeah, they have quite a complicated rigging according to the 1:10. I would not be able to keep a sence of scale. And the simplified rigging suits my no experience level better. /Matti

Cheers fellas! I've mounted 4 cannons so far. Man did I underestimate the work that goes into miniature cannons! /Matti

Nice work Ulisses, and your workshop looks way better than mine! I use mine for repairing the chainsaw and other stuff, so its really messy. /Matti

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
