Grant- Speaking of 'things I never saw before', you mentioned over on Shaz' log that the lower and uppermost ratlines don't go all the way across to the outer shrouds. I've never heard that before. Was that common practice? Thanks! -

Don't count........until you're finished. Whether it's copper plates, treenails or the dreaded ratlines!

David- CA comes in different grades and setting times. The 'thin' grade sets in about 10 seconds, 'medium' maybe 30 seconds and there is a 'thick' that gives you still more time. Good old fashioned 'wood glue' (PVA) gives you much more time to work with. I like to have all 4 sitting around depending on what I am doing. If you really need time to get something aligned and set, there are 2 part epoxies with set times from 5 minutes to 2 hours. Just something to consider.

Yes, the smaller bits need only a one microsecond of loss of concentration and they're gone. Glad to hear you have made a jig to bend and dry the planks. It really helps out. Just be patient and you'll do great!

Sorry to read about the thickness problem. But that's a nice bit of improvising you've done there. Jot down those proportions on the mixed stain! I'm not sure how Tung Oil acts but Popeye's suggestion to get her sealed is a great idea. Having fun yet ????

I think I've read the same thing Popeye has on the 2.5 times spacing. Can't remember where. Just keep those double holes lined up facing each other! Looking good!
