  1. Looking good, Terry. I don't think you're in the running for the longest build... Wintergreen's Regina I think owns the record.
  2. Nice work Piet. I think you just got a real small penny and that the turnbuckles are perfect. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  3. I see what I think you mean by "indifferent"... <cough> Great work!!!!
  4. Ian, I don't think WOW!! will do that stove justice. Amazing. Here's to you and your stove.
  5. Those are the foremost port on each side. Some ships leave them unfilled by guns to ease in anchor handling. Others had a gun there. I still haven't figured out the criteria as to whether it was Captain's choice or some regulation.
  6. Mobbsie, You're flying and Aggy looks great. Keep up the good work. Nice job on fixing the chains.
  7. Ferit, I'm looking forward to seeing your mouse as I have everything you've done on Berlin. So WVH will definitely be next?
  8. Nice progress, Sjors. I think I'll ignore the rest of the conversations for now until I get completely caught up on my reading.
  9. Grant, It was great to hear of the adventures and that you're back home safely and (hopefully) none the worse for wear. I won't order you back into the shipyard like a certain Commodore... but do take 24 hours off for rest. Then back to the shipyard!!
  10. Nice work on the gunports, JP. I see you ran into the rule that "all rules are not hard and fast". Some ships the ports were perfectly square, others the sills matched the deck. Hell, I'm still wrestling with the rule of: "bridle ports never have guns"...
  11. Augie, I get buried at work for a few days and at home with the new pup, and shazam! you're flying at the speed of sound. And it all looks perfect too. JPett, Go here for that review: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/341-micro-power-sanders/
  12. Carry on, sir. You've picked a fine project to apply what you've learned from the Snake.
  13. Nice work and I'm happy you're getting the info you need.
  14. Beautiful work, Remco. I glad that working with plastic didn't hurt your wood skills.
  15. Well done all the way around, Tom. The moldings set it off nicely.
  16. Nice and precise, Edward.
  17. Can you give us more info? Like scale? Sizes?
  18. AL typically includes a parts list by number. Look on the plans/instructions for the planking and see if it references. The size might also be in the instructions. AL is somewhat inconsistent about parts lists as well as what's in the instructions and plans.
  19. M. I've got two links... The first is has several articles on choosing a kit: http://modelshipworldforum.com/ship-model-plans-and-research.php This link has some articles on tool selection: http://modelshipworldforum.com/ship-model-materials-and-tools.php
  20. That's a nice looking pile of frames. The raising part is where the fun begins. I'm looking forward to see her ribs in place.
  21. Spencer, JPett is correct on all his points. Which ship is this? Have you checked for other build logs to see if they had a similar issue? It's possible it's a design flaw or a manufacturing flaw.
  22. I'm going to copy your six points and put them on my workbench to remind me.... They are excellent. I like the nice touches like the white panels inset into the bulwarks. .
