  1. Another vote for a planking video. The results are amazing and you make it look fairly easy.
  2. This is going to be fun to watch progress. My Cheerful kit and all its subkits still live in the original shipping package waiting for the skill to improve. This one will probably do the same for a couple of years until I'm ready for it. Of course the barge will have to fit in somewhere.
  3. Thanks for the kind words. I should get the deck finished up in a couple of days then I'll start on the deck houses.
  4. Absolutely incredible work Albert. She's a work of shipbuilders art.
  5. Great work Elijah. She looks great so far. I look forward to watching your progress right to the end.
  6. She looks great Bruce. I'm reading the book Valliant Ambition by Nathaniel Philbrook right now and it talks about the gunboats on Lake Champlain and Lake George and goes into pretty good detail. Reading the book had me thinking about building the Philadelphia and now that I am watching your build come together I plan to order the kit.
  7. Welcome aboard Eric. This is a great place to make friends and learn from people who are willing to go out of their way to help. By the way, I'm just up I-5 in Bremerton.
  8. Thanks Elijah. Yes it's laser cut. It's a really nice kit and goes together well so far.
  9. Thanks Mike, it feels really good to be back at it. I didn't realize how much I missed it. It's also great to be spending more time here with my friends.
  10. Looks like I'm late to the show as usual but what a beautiful build Bob.
  11. I have been trying to keep up with everybody's builds but I have not worked on mine for quite some time. Between family issues and getting my guitar done the shipyard has been neglected. Well not any more. I'm back at my Glad Tidings and have been working on the deck. It's going pretty smoothly and is looking ok. I painted the hull green but I think I have changed my mind and will go with the yellow hull like the original. The other builds I have seen sure look nice in yellow. I should be spending some good time at the workbench and will do my best to keep my log up to date.
  12. Welcome aboard. You will find some great people here that are very willing to help. I have made some good friends and expect you will too.
  13. Those are nice looking barrels. What are they about 4 inches long? Your frames look great. That's going to to be one heck of a model.
  14. Your Pilot Boat looks fantastic. Congratulations on finishing your build.

  15. Modelers art at its best Ed. Thank you for sharing your build.
