Hi All,

I just received this message from John 46 his daughter Suzanne.

I will quote her message here,

Sent Today, 09:09 PM

Dear forum-friend of John,

Forgive me if my english is not correct, but I wil try my best to tell you an important message about my father, John.

My name is Suzanne, i am the youngest doughter of John. In the last years i have followed the ship-building projects of my father. It was his life work. He spent many hours on what he so called ‘his shipyard’. With a perfection which I admire, he build the most lifelike scale models I have ever seen.

On Sunday the 2th of june, after his holiday, at the age of 67, he unexpectedly passed away.

With respect to him and the hours of work he spent on the shipyard, the joy he found in sharing his workprogress online on the forum with his friends, it’s very important to me to tell you this message.

Within a few days, I will publish a picture of his last project.

Suzanne

I know John as an passionated builder with a lot of humour and the will to help anyone who ask for his help.

I know I will miss him very much.

It feels to me if I have lost a friend and will always remember him.

John, my friend, rest in peace.

You are going now on your last trip.

This is truly sad news. The whole Tripp family will hold you and your family in our prayers, Suzanne. Your father provided me with much quiet encouragement and support as a new model builder, and I shall miss him.

This makes me incredibly sad.  He is so very kind and thoughtful and an excellent craftsman.  There was rarely an update in any of my logs that wasn't followed by John giving me words of praise and encouragement.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.  Fair winds my friend and God be with you till we meet again.

I am so sorry to hear that, really so sad for the loss of his entire family. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for them, coming suddenly.

Even if we have not seen each other, we were friends through the forum and I have really loved him, admired his generosity, optimism, politeness... He was a good man. I will really miss him.

I know that nothing that I can say will make dear Suzanne and his family and them who love him, feel better at this time. It is too hard to face this sorrow.

I can only pray to God for giving them the patience to be able to bear such a pain...

I offer all my sincere condolences...

Best Regards…

Dear forum-friends of John,

Thank you for all your beautiful words of appreciation and compassion. Also on behalf of my mother I want to thank you for this. For us it’s a bit of comfort.

As I promised, I have some pictures of his latest project, the King of Mississippi, which we will keep as it is for remembering the work he enjoyed so much. I will publish these pictures in a few minutes in his gallery.

With love,

Suzanne and Carla.
