In a galvanic bath, I deposited copper on a lead-tin ingot. Then I smelted the tin and got the finished copper hull of the boat.

That’s an ingenious way of making boat-shells. I would not have thought of using galvanoplastics for that. However, as you have the set-up already for e.g. the ventilators it’s logic.

Very nice work Valeriy.  Warship boats are a particular interest of mine.  I also liked the soldered brass frame; a great way to keep from losing the hull shape when shaping the intermediate wooden filler blocks.

The thickness of the deposited copper is 0.3 mm, with a current strength of 0.8-1.5 A and a time of 24 hours.

Been away for a while, so I just had the pleasure of reading through a few pages of your wonderful log.  Glad to hear you are well and your work (as always) is beyond fantastic.  So inspirational.  I particularly like the steam boats and your process in creating them.

The reason for this is probably the location of the ventilation on the port side of the engine room of the boat.
