After whole model was shot with Mr Color leveling thinner. 
 

I should have mentioned, I am using lacquer paints. Please do not use Mr Color leveling thinner over a model painted with acrylics. You will ruin your model.

I have hand painted some chipping effects and detailed some raised parts, then gave the entire model a good gloss coat of lacquer. This gloss coat is in preparation for washes and other effects to be added later after it dries thoroughly.

Gave the entire model a blue wash-filter, then added some accent color and rust streaking.

Thanks for the comments gentlemen.

Will do a little more weathering then give it all a dull clear coat to seal it all in. Saving the railings for last as I am afraid of breaking them while handling the model. I've already dumb-thumbed the stanchions a couple of times but stopped short of actually breaking them off.

The kit provides a section of clear monofilament (fishing line) for the railings. I decided to replace it with Plastruct .3mm styrene rod.

Trying not to over do it…added some streaking light rust, grime, and light gray. Want to keep it subtle. A good dull coat over everything should blend it all much better. Waiting until my guns and blast bags are finished and installed for the dull coat.

It won’t be as prominent with the guns in place. The flat coat tones it down a lot as well.

For the life of me, cannot figure out how to make a pre order. Maybe if I wait a bit longer a pre order won’t be necessary. The figures posed in deck cleaning activities will help make an interesting display.

Painting and finishing of the deck begins with a Mr Surfacer mahogany primer.

Thanks Yves. I painted the blast bags with Mr Color bone. Then applied liberally a Tamiya brown detailing wash. After the wash dries in about 20 minutes, clean away the excess using a paint brush wet with odorless enamel thinner and a cotton swab. Remove enough excess brown to your satisfaction that leaves shadows in the recesses. 
 

Next for the deck treatment, I have covered the mahogany primer with Mr Color sandy brown. After allowing the coat to dry, will continue with additional applications of oil paints and washes to detail out the deck.

With the exception of a set of deck crew figures not yet in my possession, this project is rapidly coming to a close.

I applied a blue-black wash to the deck then masked and painted some random deck planks in a darker wood color. Next I intend to give one last wash then add a few missing pieces to the deck along with a little detail painting.
