L'Amarante 1749 by giampieroricci - FINISHED - 1:30 - French Corvette

I remade the central part of the light, with a different technique.  I didn't like the previous light. I made a wooden counter-form on which to secure the uprights of the light of two brass supports; I also used a thinner wire, 0.8 mm for the uprights and by 0.4 for the spreaders:

I would like to know that as well.  As for Solder-it I have tried using it with a torch and the part i was working on dissolved on me.  I wonder what I was doing wrong,

Giampiero - You might like to try using what Railway and aircraft modellers use its a liquid that dries clear and would be ideal for the individual panes in the Lantern - Just dip a tooth pic in the fluid and run it around the edges If you don't like the effect its easy to dissolve I know Testors make one and Model Master do as well. - Cheers Pete

Here's a link to the testors with some tech tips http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHN89&P=M

couldn't find one for the model master one buts I think its a bit better from memory.

Hello Giampiero. Wonderful work. I don't know if I've understood the process for glazing the lantern. I suposse you have to mix the two components, and then to cover the lantern with the result. When do you apply wax? How much time does it need to dry? Do you have remove anything?

Thanks in advance.

The wax is applied on the outside of the lantern, warming it slightly to be modeled. Then I mixed the two components of the resin and I filled the lantern.

The resin takes about 12 hours to dry.

When the resin is hardened, it is easy to remove the wax with a bit 'of hot water
