Hello Max! I did not know you had snuck back onto MSW and into your ship building room! I thought you were away enjoying Summer in the fresh air with your incredible furry friends! I am sorry I missed the first steps of your second build but I will follow along with every step so I can see your skills in action again. And learn a few tricks too hahaha. Welcome back!!

Hello Denis, I have been staring at your latest pics in absolute awe. To see the whole ship in the one photograph and how good each part is directly next each other really brings it all into perspective. Just perfect! I honestly can't think of the right words to say how good it looks. Would you settle for a *gasp*?

Hi Eamonn! Well it was worth the wait to see some more photos. Your Ballahoo just looks so good and your work is exceptional!! Perhaps you could suggest to your friend that you do a VERY thorough test of his camera for a couple of months or so .....

Wow Denis! I thought the furled sails looked perfect in your previous pictures, but to see them fitted just takes it to a whole new level!! The only apology you need to make over your photos is that there isn't more of them haha. Your Sovereign of the Seas just looks so good!

HMS Beagle by maurino - Mamoli
Bindy replied to maurino's topic in - Kit build logs for subjects built from 1801 - 1850
Hello Mauro! Is there room for another to follow along? A little while ago I read a review on this kit and have been interested in it ever since and can't wait to see what you do with it! I like the idea of the wood moulding for reinforcements too. That is very clever! -
They really do look incredible Denis! The colours, the way they fold, the ropes, just perfect! I can't wait to see them on your Sovereign of the Seas! Well I can wait, just not too patiently

Hello Waitoa! I found your log ! I am so glad you started the log and I will be following along every step of the way! I had the very same problems with my lower deck, however mine is also a little twisted which I will need to deal with. Was yours nice and flat? Thank you again for going to the trouble of making a log! Bindy

Hi Steve, It is so great to see you back amongst friends and also playing with new toys. That saw does look great. My heart and prayers go out to you, your wife and all involved as you face these challenges together. Best wishes Steve.

Hi Nenad, Your plating really is going great! When you first described how many plates, and how much work I expected you to take so much longer although it probably feels like it is already. Thank you also for your posts about your country and what is happening. As sad as it reads, it really is so interesting and makes it all so real for us on the other side of the planet. I have to admit that I enjoy opening your log every time I visit Model Ship World. But I had to laugh as when you wrote ... I remember annoying my father so much when I was young that he gave me the job of "go out the back and dig HALF a hole". It kept me busy for hours and every time I got him to inspect it he told me it was no good as it was a complete hole and I had to start again. Maybe he was really training me to do coppering?

Massive congratulations on your finished build Keith!!! i can't wait to see all of the photos when you do get a chance. I am guessing that this wonderful hobby is like writing, or painting in that when you are finished there is always more things you could do, or things you could re-do and if you did you would never ever finish haha. I can't wait to see all you do with your Royal William

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
