  1. Caught up with your now terminated build log Mark. I am also very sorry to hear about your situation and wish you the strength to build a new life. Yes, I am familiar with dementia, my mother. It is a scary condition. Gwen and I have been discussing it quite a lot lately. She at 78 years young is concerned about herself because of her now more occurring forgetfulness. I am thus very busy doing research on it and what natural medicine we can use to help our brains from deteriorating. Thankfully we both seem to be doing quite well now with supplementing our all organic way of life. I will see you on your new build log, whenever I can. Keep well,
  2. Looking good Jan and a smart move too - - - closed. On the other hand . . . . . when ship is in port for some work the lids could be open for some fresh air below deck with guns run in. But that would require a lot of extra work on your part. Maybe a few then? 😉 Cheers, Piet.
  3. Hang in there OC and I share the same comments as the others, lay it us my friend. This world has become much too in-personable already - just the thought of being able to share our problems with caring friends is priceless. Gwen and I petition our Creator for a suitable solution for you and your dear wife. Cheers, Piet.
  4. Nice progress Freek. On the soldering, why not silver solder? It's low temp with a small torch, works great and much stronger. See you back when you are settled in Holland. Where will you be be living, if I may ask? Cheers,
  5. Looking really nice Carl, great Job for sure. Now on to that German cruiser. Karel Doorman could have used a few of them back in '42. Things may have turned out different. Cheers,
  6. So sorry to hear about your hands and now the hay fever. I understand and can commiserate with you. See you again this fall. Cheers,
  7. WOW Greg what a great peace of work! Sorry for being late for the fun but better late then missing your build. I read all seven plus pages and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I'll try to keep up to the launching. Cheers,

  9. Hallo Ab, so good seeing you here and showing us how to build a typical Dutch pleasure ship - - witj all the history behind it. I also have most of your books and am a great lover of Dutch ships. I have a project on my wish list to build a mini model of a VOC or Staten jacht in a 6 inch globe of a lamp. I will try to follow your build to learn. Cheers,
  10. Hoi Patrick, Impressive fleet my friend, I certainly enjoyed following all the builds and ready for the next one. Cheers,
