  1. Usually you place the first plank half it's width below the deck. Remember to make sure that the bulkheads are square, if you haven't done so already. Good luck !
  2. I am currently in the process of shaping the starboard side, which is my first. I'm nervous because I don't currently have wood filler, and I can not fill areas needing filling. If you look, you can see I have a couple arrows pointing to big spots needing filling . I found out that my school has a wood shop, and I will try to take a look at it tomorrow. There is a lot of extra wood at the bow. Sorry for all the pictures, I'm exited to be onto a new task! Have fun with your builds! I'm trying to catch back up. Until next time!
  3. Sjors, I was on a long vacation in massanutten Virginia, and the wifi was horrible. I made it through by canoeing and visiting the national museum of American history .
  4. Mike, I handled it by canoeing and visiting interesting items in the Smithsonian, including the gunboat Philadelphia. That one is now on my "to build" list . Wayne, I visited Massanutten, near the blue ridge mountains and the Shenandoah valley. Being from Illinois, I'm not used to seeing mountains! Now, back to work .
  5. Good luck! Have you checked that all the bulkheads are squared up to the keel, and that the keel is straight?
  6. Hello everybody! Last night I got back from Virginia, and I hope to get some work done today! Hopefully I will have my wood filler. I will also need to catch up with the 384 posts I've missed . I hope to update soon!
  7. Looks good to me, Ian! Good luck and have fun. At this rate, you shouldn't be gone from the victory long!
  8. Sorry, I haven't had reliable wifi in these mountains, so it's hard to keep up with your build. She's looking even better from last time! I look forward to seeing her again!
  9. Very nice and detailed work Patrick! I like those couches, as well as the kitchen (galley)!
  10. I have finished cutting and trimming my frames ! Now onto the slightly daunting task of shaping the hull…. I'm going to try to get some wood filler tomorrow before I leave for my vacation, and I hope I can do this hull justice! But first, a good dinner, and maybe some reviewing of research. Wish me luck! I hope I won't need it…
