  1. SSSHHHH!!! Please do not distract Commodore Augie - this installation and move takes delicate coordination and precise timing. Last thing we want is a picture of broken glass on the stairs to the new berth!!!!!
  2. As has been said, Glad to hear you are feeling better, Sjors! I'm sure Anja was getting rather frustrated and concerned - so she, too, must be rather relieved! Now, about that internet bill....
  3. Wishing you all the best, Hamilton! Safe travels as well - what part of NB are you visiting?
  4. glad you are home, Sjors - just wish you were feeling better! Somehow, I just KNEW that someone (who shall not be named) would request you post those funny pictures the Doctor took.... Hang in there, sir - we'll be hear when you can get back to building!
  5. Nice work, Augie! I may send you my Harriet Lane to finish rigging if you are that bored.....
  6. wow - big changes for you, Kevin! best of luck as you embark on the new journey - I have confidence you can do it!
  7. Mobbsie - I've gotta echo Grant - WOW!!! Those colors really look nice! Great job for an "old man"
  8. I can't top that! Have a fantastic day, my friend. Tip one for me!
  9. I think that, if you keep re-painting the buggers, eventually they will be too large to mount on the boat! I do rather like the idea of installing colored lights instead - the designer can change the color anytime she wants to then!
  10. Not much progress to report, but I think I know how I am going to handle the repair. As you can see below, the jibboom has broken off cleanly at the mast cap. As a result, all of the fore stays etc. are now rather slack. I am going to replace the jibboom and all of the fore stays - a couple were not particularly great anyway. When i do that, I should be able to get a nice uniform tension on them all, and also increase slightly the tension on the back stays (rear most shrouds?)
  11. Ahoy, Jim. Nice work on the hull - that finish is wicked nice! Good luck on the home re-mod...someday that, too, will be finished! Awaiting, but not holding my breath, the color decisions on the Lackawanna!
  12. This looks like fun - mind if I pull up a seat here by Bob?
  13. Hmmmm...can I join the crowd and stay on your case as well????? Glad to hear it arrived safely - and will reserve a seat for the Confed when you start there as well!
  14. Welcome aboard, Matke. The first planking looks nice - will see what some of the more experienced builders have as recommendations for how to start the second planking! In the meantime, there are a few tutorials available here: http://modelshipworldforum.com/ship-model-framing-and-planking-articles.php http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=7655 and http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/forum/14-building-framing-planking-and-plating-a-ships-hull-and-deck/ Good luck!
  15. What they said, Augie - take time to recover and hope things are stabilized as necessary!
  16. Beautiful work, Matti. Your color choices and workmanship are breathtaking!
  17. Hi, Sam - looks like another good build starting - I imagine you will "sail" right through? I saw someone asking for popcorn - here's a machine. Anyone have the kettle corn for popping? Will settle in back here in the corner and join the crowd!
  18. G'day, Frank! Just say when - we did steak on the grill last night since you never showed up!
  19. Looking very good, Frank. You accomplish some amazing weathering on your builds - I am quite envious of your skill!!!
