  1. I'm pleased to know you had an enjoyable trip, Grant, thanks too for sharing the pics, it's indeed amazing how this website brings people together
  2. She's looking great, Ray, very nice work on the margin planks and capping rails.
  3. Hi Sjors, Just caught up with your Agamemnon log, better late an never eh? Thanks for sharing the pics of the box contents, she's a mouth watering treat
  4. Very neat work on the sheaves and blocks, Mobbsie, I can see that Grant, Sjors and Anja had a great time there, Sjors seems particularly pleased with his newest ship
  5. The shrouds and stays are coming along very nicely, Popeye, excellent work!
  6. She's looking good David, nice planking work. I'm not very familiar with Occre kits, but I would reckon it would be better to add the keel now to avoid any possible gaps in the second planking.
  7. Welcome back Andy, very nice work on the shrouds and stays, your serving looks fantastic.
  8. Excellent work on the shrouds and ratlines, Sjors, it's nice to see your get together with Mobbsie and Grant, and congrats too on your newest Ship of the Line, Agamemnon
  9. Now that's a lively bunch of sailors, Frank, beautiful paint job there!
  10. Thanks for the explanation Joss, the heavier 18-pounder armament of her class may indeed be the most plausible explanation why Amphion's gunports are closer to the 36-gun frigate specifications.
  11. Hi Joss, You're doing some excellent drafting on your Amphion, she's coming along beautifully, and I'm learning a lot from your splendid work Just a small question if I may: could it be possible that the original NMM draught may have had some minor horizontal/vertical distortion thereby leading to the slight difference in it's gunport dimensions from the scantlings provided by Steel?
  12. Hi Randall, Thanks for dropping by my log, as well as for the kind words. Regarding the second layer, I plan to use Swiss Pear if the gunports and the bulwarks come out acceptably
  13. Hi Randall, Beautiful work Sir, she's coming along nicely, it's nice to see another full build
  14. Beautiful carving work on the cat-head star, Danny, they look great! I'm still trying to figure out how to fake them on my little sloop.
  15. Great to see you celebrating, mate, excellent work too on the stays and running rigging for the yards on the jib-boom
  16. Good on you, Vitus, those copper tape will come in handy for other uses, but not this one, beautiful planking work Sir!
  17. Hi Mark, I too am very sorry for your loss of a long-time friend, as the others say, time will heal the hurts my friend. Very nice fix on the keel, mate, with some wood dust magic and planking, no one will ever know it was there.
  18. Happy Birthday, Popeye, may you have many more happy birthdays to come my friend
  19. Planking is looking good, David I would echo Augie's excellent advice, some filler and careful sanding should take care of any bumps. May I also suggest some additional fairing of the remaining portion of the 3rd bulkhead? This should allow the planks in that area to have a smoother curve.
