Hi ,toss the 60 grit for at least 120 or better,as in many other things slow is better, and the odds are in your favour as you are most certainly going to improve your build and skill, you can take that to the bank.Patience , you are doing a fine job thus far.Edwin.

edmay replied to andy's topic in - Kit build logs for subjects built from 1501 - 1750
Hi Andy, Your heart was put through it's paces when the SoS was damaged, making you fearless,The instructions are small and hard to read,a local printer could be asked to enlarge then hung up with the plan in use.The quality of the kit seems to be very good but was wondering if fillers ie (balsa) or some other wood could be used between the bulkheads?? . Also the interest you have already generated in this build will come into play in a very positive and meaningful way. Kudo's for starting this log.Edwin. -
hello Max,have been trying to keep up with your log and I must say your quality of workmanship is brilliant, the blue and gold color look very good together, what is the make and name of the blue, the stairs look great as does the door. Danke Edwin

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
