Well and neatly done! It's not a race, so do take your time with the project and enjoy the process.

Well, that will eat into your modeling time, but hopefully not your model! Enjoy your new friend.

Nice work and detailing of the deadeyes in particular - a detail seldom seen even in larger scale models. However, the item across the shrouds is called a futtock stave and should be trimmed just outside the shrouds. A buttock is entirely different!

To prevent the holes clogging when matte spraying, try threading the blocks on wires first.

Having seen prototypes, I can confirm the amazing quality of the smallest sizes.

Simply completing your first model is an accomplishment in itself. Well done! You are moving up the learning curve.

Only the early carronades in the 1780's were 'outside principle' mounted. By the 1790's they pivoted inside the ports and muzzle extensions added to direct muzzle flash away from rigging.

I can personally attest to the therapeutic effect of both model-making and music. And yes, it's also meditative and zen-like when one is 'in the zone'. Welcome aboard.

You will need to soak and stretch the material on a frame to get the creases out. As it dries, the material tautens and it will flatten.

Have you tried a gentle air current using a fan?

Nice! Glad that you are recovering now and can play again. From where did you get those 1/48 figures?
