I guess you mean the counter of the lineman.
It is a lap counter so that all ropes are equally crooked. When it reaches the desired number of turns, I start to operate the part of the machine that has only one hook and begins the construction of the line. It is a way to control the final texture. If you want the end to be tighter, you give more laps, and vice versa

Amelio,

Its impossible to add any more superlatives in any language about this build such art. Well as young people say (in the US) when something is so awesome, "this is sick" :imNotWorthy:

I agree.  This is one, where the build is so exemplary, that the pictures are worth a million words.  In my opinion, the key ingredients to what Amalio is doing are research, patience and whatever time it takes to achieve his standard.  He is undoubtedly, incredibly resourceful, and that is the magic of ship modeling.

We are all works in progress, all of the time.

I think it's about dividing all the work into short objectives. Each day has its objective, and if we fulfill satisfactorily with that objective, we will have great daily satisfaction. In this way we will not need patience, because we will have results every day. A good aptitude would not be to aim for the completion of the model, if not enjoy and learn from it every day.

Amalio,

I think the translation worked very well.  A beautiful philosophy to have.

It sounds like the Scrum method in software development ... as Mark said, a beautful philosophy, and a perfect way to work on the different parts of the build. Remco has a signature much a like: "Treat each part as if it is a model on its own, you will finish more models in a day than others do in a lifetime."
