But this is advertised as 1mm copper. https://www.vandijkenelektronica.eu/nl/wikkeldraad/1408-wikkeldraad-1mm-035-ohm-16m.html

Or do we talk different things?

Jan

Received it today. Works great, very soft. Ordered 0.8 and 1mm. However since it is wikkeldraad there is an enamel paint over the wire.

Tried different solutions to get rid of it, aceton, terpentine. But it wont solve. Maybe wasbenzine. Well, i.ll keep on trying.

Thanks for helping me out Jan.

Yes thats possible, but that leaves no nice surface and as the copper is soft it wrinkles and bends like h....

So I would like to remove it keeping nice smooth copper wire.

Tried lots of solutions. None worked. Alass.

What Carl suggested would work. I've always used a blowtorch on low.   If you don't want to heat the wire, try some enamel paint remover.

I've build a wooden clinkerbuild dingy for my herringlugger. Here some pictures how I did it. Don't know if it's the smartest way but it worked out for me. For steambending the wood I've build a woodsteamer from an old rice cooker and soms loose materials.

Kees,

The details are amazing (hartstikke hartstikke mooi) And I agree with cog about the guider piece. I was surprised to see that.

It looks smart to me Kees and the results are excellent.  A beautiful model - an informative log. I will be watching for future updates.

Kees,

Again, excellent details. I also like the many pictures you upload of a particular project you would be working on.

Thanks for the kind replies and for hitting the like-button. The deck indeed needs some colour and maybe some staining. I will work that out later in the build

Kind regards, Kees

Magnificent tin bashing Kees. Very skilful. What is the thickness of the brass sheet you are working with?

The thickness is 0.3mm. I bought a couple of rolls last year for very little money.  In the Netherlands it's called "Latoen".

I don't know for sure if it's brass or maybe yellow copper
