Great start Sjors and nice to see another of your model builds.  Your planking looks great and you seem to have overcome the challenges on some of the details.  This looks like an awesome kit.

Cheers,

Jason

Thanks Jason,

For the first time i tapered the planks and i like it 😃

The kit is great but with all the kits there are a few things that will be changed when i will  buy another one in the future.

But the building is just fun!

Again a little further.

Cannons and swivel guns in place.

On the cannons I only have make the breach ropes.

For me that's enough.

Now on to the masts.

Also received mine quad hands:-)

Things are coming along very nicely; I have one comment that I hate to point out, but the swivel guns look like they are upside down (or at least the handles). I have an off brand quad hands that I have been using a lot as well, very nice addition.

How do you like that Proxxon drill press? I’m thinking about getting one, and the disk sander? I have heard Proxxon power tools are very nice quality. I have a Wen drill press but it’s not the best. Also your build looks awesome!

Time for an update.

Masts and bowsprit done.

With all the blocks for the lower parts.

Also the jib boom and the first rope is on it.

It's very tiny work so it takes some time to attach things

But that's the fun ( I think )🙂

Thanks for the visit and thanks for the likes .

Thanks Bob and John.

And also for the likes.

I had the idea that a small ship was easy to make.

But no, it’s a challenge but also more fun!

The only thing that i found out is that you have to read carefully the drawings.

What you are looking for is there, only you have to find it.

The difference between all the manufacturers is so big.

Each drawing has his own way of showing things.

( i hope you understand what i mean)

I think with the next one i Should have less problems.....

Thanks Spyglass, Mark and Glenn.

@Spyglass,
you can do the same.

Just take your time..

I’m still follow you in silence.

Mark,

There are not big problems just minor ones.

Now i take my time to read the drawings carefully.

And it helps!

@Glenn,

It just look if it is speeding...

My wife is working at home for 7 months now and when i’m off duty the only place that i can be is the shipswarf 😊

So building time😁

Hello all.

Thanks for the thumps up 😃

I have make the stays..... and finished the shrouds and ratlines.

Because it is little and because of my big hands, it was a task but I managed it!

I can talk what I want but it is better to show the pictures.

I was just looking at your rigging and I was very struck by how authentic (dirty  black !!) the shrouds and ratlines looked - wondering what dark thread you used for them .

Good question. The rigging is a bit special, it has exactly the 'look' I hope to achieve.

Great looking model, well done.

Hello Spyglass,

Thanks for the comment.

About the rope for the shrouds and ratlines, i’ve got them from Morope Germany.

The only thing is when i use that rope, every time when i have to cut i have to put a drop of glue on the thread.

When i don’t do that it’s coming loose ( don’t how to say it but then you have multiple threads )

Unravel would be the term, from what I've read and experienced it is from the rope being a polyester instead of cotton. As you say, a drop of glue (CA or in my experience a fly tying lacquer) helps hold it all together.

Your rigging is looking very nice!

I really would keep CA off rigging

I strive for this, but I've been told that the discoloration and crystallizing is with natural rigging lines and not applicable to polyester threads. That being said I've been so strongly advised previously against it with natural thread that I stick to a lacquer. I'm not certain how well PVA works with polyester being a plastic.
