You must surely be hand painting as well Greg  - no way you could mask off areas for spraying at this scale with all those small bits.

Air brushing or hand painting... the size still makes my eyes hurt.    That is some excellent work in the paint shop, Greg.

the steam winch ... that's an inflated giant thumb right, like some modellers use matches, and pencils to fake the real size of the object

And finally the ships boats, I have no idea what colour they should be so I kinda made it up.

Grey will do rather nicely, RGL

I thought it was a Thumb table  - a one off style of  work area.

not to shabby mate. I like the way he rigging on your masts turned out.

Those bands on the chimney stacks define the role in the "flotilla" (e.g. leader) got that from a book on the V&W types.

I got myself some 3D printed chains (XY models). Top one is 1/350 and bottom is 1/700 which is perfect for this size ship. When you see massive chains on a small ship it looks all sorts of wrong. I have to replace the pipes an add chain stoppers yet. As you can see fro. The. A Asian museum ship the chain needs to be a lot smaller

Every RN Destroyer has ready use shells alongside the deck guns held in little racks. You can also see the little hatches on the deck which I’ll add later as they are were the removable chimney stacks go. 23034FFB-EE00-447B-90B6-182FD1F824C5.thumb.png.0aa71af529d66b07056497f9d7d0cafb.png

not perfect and bloody fiddly, I utalise some ringols (I have a lot spare) and plastic stop and Rod (files to a point). 1ADBED9D-7901-4627-B7F7-6E0C078097A4.thumb.jpeg.86570ad9812cda54ee8c3b6aea8fcdb4.jpeg7411BFA0-A0E2-4C4E-B4F8-D52EE4B15AC2.thumb.jpeg.0ff86329c9481e31cb113677aaf33840.jpeg

Never thought, they fixed the boats with giant rubber bands?

Seriously, wonderful ship, and it demonstrates how nuances and small details could bring life to a model ship. And yeah, a talented modeler is mandatory. Congratulations Greg, and now i'm started following your excellent build.
