Welcome back, Doris -

Seeing your work again was a wonderful Holiday present.  Like Floyd's wife, mine has become jaded with all the "ho-hum" just another ship model, but she is always eager and excited to see your postings and the beauty of your work.   She thanks you too.

Be well

Hello dear friends!

I am very impressed reading your feedback, thank you very much for your appreciation and kind words.
I am also pleased and honoured that my work attracted other women - your wives. I like ship modeling, but there are only few women in our country, who also enjoy this hobby.

Please convey my cordial greetings to your wives. :piratebo5:

And now what´s new on RC
The main cabin is almost finished; chairs, table and other furniture and decorative items are already in place, I improved baroque clock and now preparing a final decoration ....

Dear Doris,

Thank you so very much for sharing your rare gift with us lesser mortals.  Your work is in a class of it's own and on a par with the likes of Rubens, Vermeer, Bruegel, Michael Angelo  and Rembrandt.  It's beyond words to express myself.

I am assuming that will make the cabin roof removable so people can enjoy seeing your exquisite work.

Cheers,

Piet, The Flying Dutchman.

Dear friends,

first I want to wish you all the best for the New Year.

I am pleased and honoured reading your posts, thank you very much for your support and feedback. I appreciate it a lot.
Well, I build paper models over 30 years and still there are plenty of things, I could make better. The most important is - to do it with love.

Yesterday I finished the cabins, so I am bringing now many pics and you can enjoy the atmosphere of luxury interior in Royal Caroline yacht. I do not have exact description or plans of real cabins (suppose it does not preserved), so I created it by my own imagination and taste.

About removable roofs - it is a question - of course this could be interesting opportunity to watch the interior in a full detail, but the ship will have complete masts and rigging so that makes impossible to move/remove the decks and roofs. I did not thought about this solution.
BTW, all is visible through the windows, especially after lighting. B)

Some pics -  view into the windows

Its photos like these that make you wish there was an 'incredible shrinking' machine so you could walk through the cabins and sit at the table and bask in the luxury of it all.

Doris, it seems like such a shame to hide all your work under a roof. May I suggest that rather than make a roof, you make a clear plastic covering instead? You can buy a sheet of polycarbonate, heat it up in an oven, then bend it over a mould.

Regards, Keith

When I grow up I´ll be like Doris. :piratetongueor4:

When I modeled houses I always had the thougth of putting a removable top floor or roof, so the interior could be explored by the client/viewer. It´s like magic, when u take out the roof and people can look inside to perceive details they couldn´t just one minute before. That´s something I´m thinking on doing with my next ships. Anyways, the windows are something magical too, to peer inside a tiny openning and see how wonderful Doris´ work is.

(well, I´m really enchanted ^^)

A happy new 2014 full of realizations, Doris!

Hello dear friends,

I am very impressed reading your posts, thank you a lot for your attention to my build and kind words. I am sure, there are a lot of stunning shipbuilders at MSW - much better than me, I also draw inspiration from their work and am grateful that can be here with you. Thank you very much for this oportunity.

The idea  - to make clear area in the roof  - is very good and I am thinking about it.

I have other pics for you, this time my husband took photos, so here are some of them. Now I am preparing the support structure for the roof in rear cabin.

Please enjoy them:
