  1. Thanks, Hake. It is complicated! Your have a note that reads, "topsail halyard, runs up through the lubber hole," if I'm reading it correctly. What's the "lubber hole?"
  2. I just found your build log and was admiring your work when I came upon the post about your health. I just want to say that, along with other members of the MSW family here, I am saddened by your health news and hope you will find strength and comfort in the days ahead. There are a lot of prayers and caring thoughts being sent your way from this fellowship of ship modelers from all over the world...
  3. Nice work, Hake! I was looking closely at the rigging for the mizzenmast and I can't quite see the just how the lines run for the gaff sail and the topsail. Do you happen to have a diagram that shows how these two sails are rigged and secured to the mizzenmast and where the lines run?
  4. I'm with the others when they say "fix it." Otherwise, every time you look at it your eye will go directly to the area that is out of symmetry, Others may not see it but I guarantee that you will and it will most definitely bug you. Don't ask me how I know this to be true!
  5. This is really great, Kurt. It's exactly what I need now that I'm seriously thinking of getting a Byrnes saw. I'd like to keep my fingers intact since I play guitar also!
  6. That hull looks quite good now that it's sanded, Mark. I'm sorry to hear that you'll be needing heart surgery and I sure hope you'll be as good as new when it's over and you've recovered. I will be thinking of you, Mark, and sending healing thoughts your way.
  7. Thanks, Jeff, I was't aware the Byrnes table tilts.
  8. I don't think the the table can tilt on the Byrnes. Is a tilting table something that quite useful in ship modeling?
  9. I'm in the market for a disc sander as was leaning towards the Byrnes disc sander. Anyone know how the Proxxon and Byrnes disc sanders compare and/or have experience with both?
  10. When do you expect that you announce those or are you going to keep us hanging in suspense? 😜
  11. Slow but sure, Rich. Nothing wrong with that. Looking good! I've had this model on the shelf for a few years. I've always thought she has some of the most gorgeous lines I've ever seen. I'll will definitely get around to building it some day!
  12. I just came across your build log, Harry. This should be an interesting build and big to say the least! Hope you make a swift recovery from your surgery. I look forward to following your build. Good luck!
  13. I've used blocks from Syren Shipmodeling Co before and they are excellent.
  14. Wow...the sanding block lying on the hull really shows just how big this model is. That's a whole lot of fairing to do!
  15. She looks gorgeous, Jason! It looks like you've got a nice friend lying on the couch to keep you company too.
  16. I just looked over your log again, Ben. Absolutely fantastic craftsmanship. So clean, crisp and precise!
  17. Welcome to the forum, Jorge. The Sagres looks like a very cool vessel. Please post some photos of your finished model in the gallery. She would be great to see. Also, go ahead an start a build log of your L'Ambitieux. I'm sure their are members who would like to see it get built. Good luck!
  18. Gosh, Glenn, she looks pretty darn good after all. Your next version of the Sphinx should be spectacular. Good luck. I'll be following along on that build as well.
