    If it were me doing it I would taper all strips and start at the wale , this is just me, and you are the Captain. Happy holidays

    First of all you sure have done a good job of planking so far, when I get to this stage of planking I will quite often work both ways, up and down. I am not really sure if it would make a difference or not, it doesn't look like you are going to have any problems.

    That would indeed be a lot of work making those copper plates. My hand goes out to you for doing such work . And please start a build log, it would be nice to see more of this build and your techniques.

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
