  1. The fruits of the research turned out great, Daniel. I'm still not sure I like that color they use for the current one.
  2. Happy belated birthday, Eric. Nice bit of motivation you recieved.
  3. See if there's an auto shop that does chroming, Allan. Some do and most don't anymore.
  4. Looks good from here. Use the method that's working.
  5. Does it have to be metal? There's still very accurate plastic ones available.
  6. They redid the NRG page so they may have moved the links, etc.
  7. The 2nd and 3rd posts are the instructions. Do what's in post #3 first as it will get you to the right place, then follow post #2.
  8. Personally Chris, at that scale the window look darn good. I wouldn't try adding frames, etc. Leave like they are. If you were building at a larger scale, then it might be worth it.
  9. You're not putting the planks on upside down are you, Eric? How would 24 fit if you flipped it over? Same for the other 2. They look like they're curving away from the strakes already in place.
  10. There's more than a passing resemblance there, Nick. Excellent work.
  11. I believe you're right, Roger. Many accounts mention the boats being manned and under tow until the ships closed for battle.
  12. I will offer this.. one of our modelers who hasn't been around in awhile had this for a tag line and hopefully I get it right: "Treat each piece as separate model and at the end of the day, you have completed more models than many do in a life time." So take heart... you're doing a lot of models.
  13. I found the more you do the wood thing, the more comfortable you will be. I did my share of software and very early on, I had the same worries.
  14. So the secret is the hair dryer. You're figures look great.
  15. Nothing wrong with counting knots. Now if you were counting the strokes with sandpaper per hull, I worry.
  16. Looks good, OC. The only thing I can suggest and I don't know if you've tried it and that's to hit with some flat clear. That problem has to have you pulling your hair out.
  17. I really like the way this is looking. And the boats look perfect.
  18. Hank, We've all been there, done that, had the Captain's Mast, appropriate flogging and went back to doing what we wanted. Thanks for the tale. It made my day and I'll be chucking for quite a while.
  19. I would suggest starting a build log, sir. Show the contents of the box and then ask your question. The log is good way to eyes and help.
