  1. Nice progress, Adeline. I guess we'll just have to be patient.... Christmas, huh? Ok. That will be a nice present: seeing some more done on her.
  2. Ah....got my reservation from Modelship-Tickets-R-Us.... Looks like I made it with time to spare.
  3. Just lovely work on the stern and it looks to me like a perfect job on the catheads. I'm looking forward to the next bit of progress.
  4. Very well done. She's snug in her new home and all looks great. I'm happy to have followed along... oh Confed is waiting. Need to go get some more popcorn.
  5. Those plates could still be doors for fixed forward firing torpedoes. As I recall, at this stage in BB development there were still a lot of different things being tried and either accepted for the next generation or rejected. I remember seeing one that had tubes firing dead astern. I guess they wanted as much firepower as they could carry.
  6. I think many of the Model Shipway kits (Model Expo's line) use basswood for planking. There's a lot of beautiful work here using those kits.
  7. Now that's a sweet little boat. I've got a couple of those in the closet to put together. Any issues with them?
  8. Boris, I'd like to suggest you open a build log for your sub. It would be fascinating to watch two subs being built and easier to watch two logs than sort through Piet's log.
  9. Nice looking railings, Jim. I'm glad the jig worked. I never thought about painting with glue to help in holding the shape, however. I have to give it a try.
  10. Ferit, I won't repeat what everyone else has said and I agree with them. Inspirational building you are doing.
  11. <fingers crossed for you> Here's hoping the interview goes well... Sometimes a little quiet is needed and helps us focus a bit on things. Eggs bacon, and beer! What more can anyone ask.
  12. Well, that blows the idea of the whole bunch of us sitting by the mailbox and grinning when the mailman showed up... I'll be sitting here on the edge of my seat (well, I will when I get home from work) waiting to see her in her glory. And hopefully the beginnings of a new masterpiece.
  13. Looks sweet, Ray. Very well done on the details. Yes it's a pity they will be covered, but you and MSW will know what's there. Keep up the great work.
  14. John, Looking wonderful. And to think, you do this in front of a live audience at the museum.
  15. Fraser, Does the color go all the way through the wood? It almost looks like a stain to my eyes. But then, I need new glasses.
  16. Best wishes on the new posting. Hope it works out to your advantage. We'll try to be patient and also try to keep a certain person from bugging you for pictures.
  17. The case is looking grand, Augie. As for the "cruise"... maybe pre-assemble downstairs, take upstairs and final assemble? The thing will be a beast to carry. As for waiting by the mailbox, maybe we'll join you... a few resfreshments, maybe?
  18. Nice work on the windlass. I'd think about at least planking the hull before fixing anything to the deck since you'll have roll the ship around a bit for that.
