  1. Hi Mike and Frank Many thanks for your comments and Likes. Mike-a floating palace sounds great. Now, if only I could afford a real one...! Frank-great to hear that your procedure went well, yesterday. I'm looking forward to your next Paragon update! All the best Patrick
  2. Hi everyone and many thanks for your comments and Likes! Greatly appreciated! Well, over the past few nights, I've been working on Symphony's sails and rigging. Here's what it looks like so far. Lots of work still to go, though. For example, you may note that the mainsail needs some adjustments, as it's not quite fitting right. Hope you enjoy the photos so far. Cheers and all the best! Patrick
  3. Hi Richard Thanks! I have to agree with you about MSW. It's a great forum. All the best. Cheers Patrick
  4. Hi Mike Are you sure that's not the full sized boat that you're pretending is your model? It must be, because it looks authentic, especially the way you've replicated the fillets against each deck beam to give strength and rigidity to the hull. One heck of a nice job! Cheers Patrick
  5. Hi Mick A milestone-raising the first frame! Well done! Cheers Patrick
  6. Hi Richard What a beauty! Nice. clean and precise work, which is a credit to you. Your daughter's going to be really chuffed! Cheers Patrick
  7. Hi Mike The idea of the self draining cockpit is a good idea, and it would be interesting to see if the movement of the model underway is sufficient to create the hydraulic vacuum necessary to drain the water. As an aside, (and this may be totally irrelevant), many years ago, my Dad built an RC cabin cruiser, complete with a flushing toilet in the main cabin! Yep, that's right, it had a flushing toilet, which was fed by water being fed though an inlet below the waterline. The force of the water moving past the hull fed the toilet cistern. When the ball float in the cistern was raised sufficiently, the water flushed/drained away through another outlet above the waterline. Perhaps this was an example of the 'hydraulic vacuum' operating in reverse to what you're proposing. But, as I said, it'd be great to see if your idea works. All the best! Patrick
  8. Hi Gregor That's a real juggling act that you've got on there with all the different hulls going at the same time. Great job on all of them. I'm looking forward to following along. Cheers Patrick
  9. Hi Bob Beautiful work! Really clean and precise. I'm looking forward to seeing you stepping the mast and sails. Cheers Patrick
  10. Hi Vaddoc The setbacks can be a real "pain the you know what", but the good thing is that you're well and truly over them. I'm loving what you've done so far, especially your workmanship and attention to detail. Also, I can't leave without saying that those blocks look brilliant. Nicely done! Cheers Patrick
  11. Hey Denis Thanks for the Father's Day best wishes. Mine went really nicely. As for your rudder...gotta say how nice the gudgeons and pintles look. Nice and authentic, that's for sure. I must admit though, I don't quite understand why'd the rudder was skewed to one side. What is it compensating for? Nice job on the gammoning in the bowsprit area. All the best! Patrick
  12. Hi Tom Very nice progress so far. She's certainly shaping up beautifully. Great job! Cheers Patrick
  13. Hi BNoah Druxey took the words right outta my mouth. I was trying to think of what options you may have, but perhaps an occupational therapist may be able to advise you? Good luck and all the best! Cheers Patrick
  14. Hi Sherry At the sake of sounding like a parrot copying everyone else's comments, please let me just say one word..."Bloody Fantastic!" Ok,those were two words. I failed maths in high school! Look forward to more updates. Cheers Patrick
  15. Hi Tom Looks like you're off to a great start. I'm looking forward to tagging along! Cheers Patrick
  16. Hi Jon I've loved following your every post, from start to finish, of your Charles. She looks absolutely fantastic in and out of the water. You've gotta be really chuffed! Over the next few months, I hope that you can sort out the sailing problems so that she tack into the wind, thereby allowing her to come back to the shore. Gotta say, though, I'm really looking forward to your new boats taking shape, as well! Cheers and all the best Patrick
  17. Hi BNoah She's looking great and you must be very chuffed! One question, though-just curious as to why you mentioned that 'this will be your last build ever?' Cheers Patrick
  18. Hi Maoro What a beautiful paint job, especially the star on the stem. Nice! Cheers Patrick
  19. Hi Ron This was my first visit to more build log, only to hear of the sad news of your daughter's house and her cats and dogs. My thoughts are with you, your daughter and family. I hope she was insured and that she is able to rebuild and recover quickly. Take care Patrick
  20. Hi Lextin She's looking better and better all the time, especially with the addition of the 'branches'. Nice job on the parrels, too. Probably not too much longer before her maiden voyage? Cheers Patrick
  21. I'm not really sure I'd like to look at Mick's 'lovely bum', but one thing's for certain, that's some beautiful work! Mick - you never cease to amaze me with the quality and precision of your work. Nice stuff and keep it up! Cheers Patrick
  22. Hi Dave The Docs may be tough, but don't forget how hard it's been for you. All I can say, is that I'm glad you're on the mend. All the best Patrick
