Make the treenails as small as practical; so often they are clunky and far out of scale. I mark out and prick each position first so that the drill doesn't wander and mess things up. Dip te ens of the treenail material in slightly diluted white glue, push it into a hole, snip short or flush using flush cutters. Repeat. Repeat.... I personally prefer a subtle not a "measles" appearance. Your proven expertise will, I'm sure, produce an excellent result. Another 3 hours to complete the pencil location of the treenails. Then to use a point to set the starter hole. Then drill and place the treenails. I am using the same wood as I used to plank the model so you should have to look carefully to actually see the tree nails.
