Cutter Alert 1777 by Dali - FINISHED - scale 1:48

Recommended Posts

Hello all. In 2019, I bought the damaged and unfinished Alert hull via Allegro on the Internet. Cutter very nicely made sewn in difficult technique until he begged to finish it. Since May 2020, I have been trying to renovate and finish the construction of the Cuter Alert from 1777 based on the plans from the book Anatomy of the Ship by Peter Goodwin.

Greetings, Piotrek

PS. Sorry for the English but I use Google translator.

Good Evening Dali;

That's some very good quality work you have done for your project. Congratulations and well done indeed!

All the best,

Mark P

Previously built models (long ago, aged 18-25ish) POB construction. 32 gun frigate, scratch-built sailing model, Underhill plans.

2 masted topsail schooner, Underhill plans.

Started at around that time, but unfinished: 74 gun ship 'Bellona' NMM plans. POB

On the drawing board: POF model of Royal Caroline 1749, part-planked with interior details. My own plans, based on Admiralty draughts and archival research.

Very fine quality work! And a nice photography as well :)

Thanks for showing your milling setups, some of them are quite creative!

One question though: when you milled ladders by using a double sided tape and a block of wood - how do you attach that block of wood to the mill table? I do not see any clamps there. Another layer of a double sided tape?

Dziękuję Rafał, dziękuję za polubienie. Kotwica. Spławiki olchowe, ja też użyłem ołowiu, który łatwo układał się na boi. Ołów jest czerniony i lakierowany, aby zapobiec utlenianiu. Pozdrawiam Piotrek.
