  1. Thanks for your review, Mike. I'm looking forward to using mine.
  2. That's a very cool little boat, Mike! I love models of boats we rarely see. Looking forward to following your build.
  3. Great job, Mike, on one of my favorite ships of all-time! I'm looking forward to seeing what you decide to build next too.
  4. The Swan diorama is fantastic, Ron! The wave action and the billowing sails really bring the model to life. I can't wait to see the Sphinx underway in heavy seas as well. I hope you will thoroughly document the process of making the diorama in your build log. It would be fascinating to see how you do it.
  5. I built the Syren Medway Longboat and it had pre-spiled planks. I'm sure it made the planking easier but it certainly still had its challenges for me. I learned a lot from just being able to see what properly shaped planks look like to begin with. I'm sure I would not have been as pleased with the outcome of the planking if the planks had not been pre-spiled so I'm happy that Chuck decided to do that on that kit. The learning curve for good planking has been steep for me and I'm still do not feel all that confident about it but it's coming along little by little. However, fairing the hull correctly is something that I still feel highly uncertain about. Now if the bulkheads only came pre-faired...that would be something! 😂
  6. I just found your build of this interesting model and will follow along too. Good luck, Paul!
  7. What have been the most challenging steps in this build, Paul? Getting the frames seated properly looks like it would be difficult. I've read that the Billings Boats instructions are generally quite sparse too.
  8. I'm so happy that I just found your build, Paul, as this is a model that I have admired for several years now. I loves the lines of this boat and the clinker planking is wonderful. Your work, as usual, is meticulous, precise and gorgeous. There's no doubt that your model will set a high standard for the rest of us who may attempt to build it someday. I look forward to following along.
  9. She's really looking good, Harry. Great work on all the tiny details!
  10. The ship-in-a-bottle construction method is fascinating. Thanks for explaining it, Grant. Looking forward to it. 👍 BTW, have you been putting some miles on that new, beautiful Trek bike?
  11. I just found your log for this interesting build, Grant, and it's a tiny beauty! I love your eclectic modeling interests and always look forward to what you may select to build next. One question: What holds the masts and sails in place once you pull them up with a string and how do you get the string off once you've got the masts in the proper position?
  12. Simply a work of art, Glenn! I can't think of a more appropriate way to describe it...
  13. Hang in there, Bob! The older we get the harder these viruses are on us. I'm vaccinated and double boosted, as are my in-laws, and they still came down with it. Keep an eye on that fever and don't hesitate to seek further care if it gets too high.
