That is marvelous, wouldn't have thought about Domanoff's variable speed control, nice touch that one

Spiffy mate ... can hardly see the damage. Nicely done OC. You could add a drop of thick CA to flatten it out even more ...

There is more ...!?!?!? Although little, it shows much, the more choices one gets, the harder it is to choose. You should have stuck to one Sam. Since you already have precious little time to devide between better half, bench, TV, Scamp Trailer (whatever that may be), work, and your build, you shouldn't introduce more variables to influence your decision making skills By the way. I like the way you've secured the guns, backstay looks from this side very well done For the shearing of your rats ... she is still under construction, so you've got some lee way, the buggers may still be a hairy bunch

Ah yes the metric, and imperial measurement systems, you could have added the Japanese system (shakkanhō) too, a Shaku here, a Bu there ... marvelous save. I'm glad you kept the hull in one piece, and your deck attached to it. The details on your door will be visible from a distance, which I like for an RC, else you might as well have left them in a single colour ... I might have made myself a new aft boat deck from some 3mm ply ... I wouldn't want to take the risk you took. It usually turns out the other way with me ...

You will, you just have to dig in ... After a year not having spoken any French, it usually takes me a few days to "pick it up" again. You will be surprised how quickly it will return

I feel your pain at 1/200 ... you seem to cope well though, surprisingly well ... be glad Oliver doesn't twist an' spray ...

that isn't necessary, it is the way it looks, which in the end will define if it looks correct or not, for would you see the difference with the naked eye between 0.82mm and 0.69mm diameter or 0.69mm and 0.57mm diameter (although you will probably see the difference between the extremes) in the end it is you whom decides

If you want to mask, you might want to try liquid mask. Could be a good solution for small items, or difficult parts to mask with tape. Just brush it up, you can combine it with masking tape too. It's often used with water colour painting. I've Vallejo, and Windsor & Newton. If you go that way, I presume you need to find out which brand has the right properties for you. Cheers

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
