After seeing the box. I'd say go for it. What the others have said applies about building it.

Missing a few lines or not, it's still a beautiful model, Alexandru. -
What Chris said. Buying blind without seeing it is troublesome and that price increases the caution. Often times, it's not what they advertised or it's missing parts. Worst case is where it's been started and abandoned. You might want to ask the seller some questions or even as for photos of the box contents.

I believe that Corel still offers the "Student/Home" version relatively inexpensive as it's a one time purchase and not a month-to-month type as are their other products.

I suspect that's error then, Marc. That slot should not be that long as the decks do help tie the hull together. And honestly, more than one source has questions Leminuer's plans. Not just on this ship but some of the others he's done. I will say, when he get's it right, it's great, but when there's an error, it's a big one.

I'm trying to picture this ship coming at my ship. I think I'd be wondering if it was looking for the scrap yard instead a battle? I really think it's looking great, Greg. Almost too real.

Good looking windlass ,sir. And happy retirement and welcome to the ranks of non-working gezzers.

Ishmael, I shall call you that. Here's one: http://modelshipworldforum.com/ship-model-rigging-and-sails.php Another here: http://modelshipworldforum.com/ship-model-masts-and-yards.php I didn't see any that were just for the Constitution.

Looks great, Patrick. Nice to see that the party has started with invited or uninvited guests.

Yes. It really happened. You can also get in trouble pointing at someone and doing the pistol thing. Political correctness knows no bounds these days. -
Newcomer looking for help with Cutty Sark rigging
mtaylor replied to Ann's topic in Masting, rigging and sails
Hi Ann, welcome to MSW. We have an index in the kit section... here's link: https://modelshipworld.com/topic/17023-quick-find-indexes-to-build-logs-for-kits/ It will download to your computer. Once you have it, open it up and scroll down to the Cutty Sark. You should see some builds listed there and find what you need in the logs. As for ship parts, consider getting a copy of zuMondfeld's "Historic Ship Models". It's well illustrated and explains just about every part of the sailing ships. -
History keeps repeating itself. The US and allies during WWII had collapsible boats for crossing rivers. Not that big but the biggest ones could carry (if I remember right) 20 soldiers or so and equipment.

Back then, dumb pranks were just that. Yeah, you took your detention time and then figured out some other bit of mischief. Today... every thing is a threat, sadly. "Kids will be kids." no longer applies.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
