Admire your work, hope you continue posting. I do have a ship in mind that has a long history and still serves in the South China Sea. A bit of self interest because I was a Gunners Mate aboard her when she was the Harnett County LST 821, TF 116, TU 76.8.3, one of four LST's in that role and would puff up like a balloon if you found her worthy of a drawing. This is actually the river Clyde. Other similar Convoy assembly points were in the north of Scotland at Loch Ewe. River Forth ( East Coast Convoys for onward escort ) Thames ( for the same ).  River Mersey at Liverpool ( Convoys and Battle of Atlantic HQ) obviously they did attack Gourock and the rest of the Clyde area one of the main ship building areas of the UK. They also didn’t have CARRIERS!

OK, obviously I'm not that well informed on these sorts of things. It just struck me as a little too obvious that something was up.

I love your paintings by the way,and I took this scene to be more or less true.

These are absolutely amazing works of art! I haven’t gone through the entire thread but I went back to the beginning and saw that you have done all of these, which impressed me very much. I can only imagine what the ways of you home must look like. Every time I find myself at an art festival I keep my eyes out for paintings like these. I passed over one years ago that I really regret not buying. The painting was from the POV of someone looking out a window upon the dock with a gorgeous tall ship. The memory still makes me mad at myself for not buying it...

Thanks for sharing your work!
