Truly wonderful work.

A small suggestion?

When you go to take the final pictures before or after final assembly take them in front of a sky blue backdrop.  I think the effect would be stunning.

The illusion would be complete!

You are a master!

Henry

Some views of the outskirts of the village...

I wanted an entrance well integrated in the nature. It also allowed me to create a small tannery with its thatched roof.

I am getting closer to the ultimate step of this village: painting the edges of the pedestals in black.

In other words the end of this adventure! Before thinking about its extension...

Looks like the beginning of a fantasy/medieval movie. Just awesome!!! It would be cool if you could build a mini robot with a camera to take us on a tour of the village! Maybe after that you could film a whole movie in it 😁

Just beyond incredible.  It really is like walking down a medieval street.   Will there be any citizens about?

Well, I'm going to wait until I get the small endoscopic camera to do some tests... We'll see how to make an interesting tracking shot ! 😁

No, I think I'll only put the 3 or 4 figures I have to give a scale. But the objective is to show an atmosphere, an architecture. As soon as you put characters, then the eye focuses on them and everything else is just a background.
It's like in a photo with monuments or remarkable landscapes. And that's why I really hate this selfies style !

Yes, there will be a window on it.
I will take pictures outside with the whole village, when the sun will be there.
In my attic/workshop, I don't have the place to take the whole thing properly ...

Ekis,

Truly wonderful. You never answered one of my questions. Is there an area of the village or a particular structure that you are most pleased with or that you saved from disaster? The entire project must have been a rewarding one for you. It was certainly an enjoyable one for us despite those guys hanging from the rafters.

Thank you all! 👍

@Kurt Johnson I must say that when I designed the decoration of the seigneurial dwelling with the rather complicated half-timbering at this scale, I didn't really know if the result would be up to my expectations...
One of my greatest satisfactions was to see it born, facade after facade to become a real medieval house with its massive tower and its fortified balcony on the outside !
I even think that all the other houses were used to give me enough diverse experiences on materials to make this one a success...
I confess without modesty to be quite proud of the result of this mansion.
I see from time to time medieval dioramas, but rarely with such complicated constructions in their facade decorations. 😁

Ekis, you need to set up a couple of trail cams to capture the images of the fairies when they move in. Your work brings out my inner child's delight in the discovery of a world where each footstep opens to dreams and never ending possibilities.

Ekis,

Do you have any future plans to build a stand alone building such as the seigneurial dwelling say in a larger scale, like maybe 1/50? That would be something grand to see. Or have you got the “building of buildings” bug out of your system and now is the time for something completely different? I’m sure we all would follow whatever comes next.

Great job with the photography using a plain background.  I particularly like #19 with the haystack and view through the trees and the hazy view of taller buildings in the distance.  Well done perspective shot!

Have you spoken with the inn keeper about booking rooms?  I will be on the next carriage from Paris. It may take some time. The horses are slow and the roads are bad.

Do you have any future plans to build a stand alone building such as the seigneurial dwelling say in a larger scale, like maybe 1/50? That would be something grand to see. Or have you got the “building of buildings” bug out of your system and now is the time for something completely different?

To answer you frankly, Kurt, I don't know yet!
Several choices:
- build and rig the kogge printed in 3D to continue on this diorama,
- start a knarr (Oseberg) kit that has been waiting for me for a long time,
- start Nordlandsbaaden Model Ship Kit that has been waiting for even more,
- to start the terraforming of the river harbour next to the village...

For the moment, I have to finish the order of a Blériot XI mounted for a Californian member of another forum!

@Canute Absolutely: be careful, this village is really in its native region in the south west of France! Charles de Batz de Castelmore, known as d'Artagnan, is a Gascon !
Well, that said, he will only be born in the 17th century... 😁
